Ligiea was most definitely constipated. Hubby saw her straining a week ago, and she'd quit eating on the same day. I did the pumpkin routine, also gave her olive oil, syringed some water, as well as duck soup(it's for ferrets, but made of chicken, liver, heart, heavy cream- just a bit for flavouring, and water, all pureed). This went on for about 3 days. We made an appt. for the vet, but then she started eating again. It's really difficult to know how much stool she has passed, since we have 4 cats, and she will only go in the basement litter boxes. I did find one I think was hers- full of hair!
Since she's eating normally again, do you think she should still have her vet visit? She was in there for her physical in Nov.

Is Ligea still eating the canned Wellness and FF? It may just be she is shedding more due to the warmer weather. I would continue to add a little pumpkin on a daily basis to her food. It may be that she just needs a little extra fiber in her diet. As far as whether this warrants a visit to the vet, that is something her Meowmie is going to have to determine.

Thanks, Bonkers! We've got her almost entirely on the Wellness now, with just a smear of the other on top.
As I'd said, we had an appointment, but she started eating again, and now seems fine. I'll continue to give her some pumpkin for a bit and see how she does. She'll be ticked with me(I have to syringe it- she WILL not touch it in the food Cheesy), but I can live with that!
What was concerning me was not knowing for sure how well her bowels were working. She's a very secretive girl. Hubby just happened to see her that day when she didn't know he was around the corner. But I'm assuming if she's eating and drinking fine, then everything else must be working as well!

Sherrylynne, wow, glad to hear she's mostly on Wellness.  To tell you the truth, I also have to supplement every day with a little pumpkin and I feed some Wellness, too.  All three of them get about half a teaspoon a day.  Even the kittens.  Oh wait, the kittens are almost a year old!  I wonder if I can still call them the kittens Huh

The good news is that she is doing fine in all areas Grin. The even better news is that she now likes Evo 95% as much as the FF, so she gets the Wellness mixed with the Evo. Mr. Stubbs will still only eat a mix of the other. And now Watson is on a mix of freeze dried raw, with raw chunks Grin. Herne will still only eat the Evo kibble, but at least he's healthy, and has gained back all his weight that he'd lost last year.
