Stubbies is senile. He used to adore going outside with us to wander the back yard for an hour or two. This year, he'd cry at the door to be taken out, but when we'd do that, he'd become terrified, and immediately want back in. I don't think he recognized where he was.
For some reason, today- he loved it Grin, so I took lots of pics!
We don't think we're going to have him for that much longer. He's just too frightened of his surroundings most of the time now. So, we just take each day as it comes!
Anyway- here's my "big orange guy" Grin

Well Mr. Stubbs certainly looks like he had a great time being outdoors today!  Smiley

He really did! It was so nice Cheesy. Neither of us expected him to want to stay, but for some reason he did. He wandered about, noshing on the grass, and checking everything out for about half an hour Grin

He's absolutely darling, Sherry, and doesn't look like he's 15!  Is he a Manx or did he lose his tail in an accident?

Actually, he was born that way. He was a barn kitty, and his vet figured because of his size, and the features he had at the time(tufts on the ears, HUGE paws/claws, very large hind quarters, as well as the tail) that he was part bobcat. Which I tend to believe, because we didn't have him neutered until he was almost 8 months old, and my gods, the MUSK coming off that boy Grin. I actually thought he'd gotten into something, and gave him a bath. The smell was back within an hour Grin, so I set up the appt for his neutering!

That is very interesting! I have never heard of a kitty that was part bobcat. Is this something common or is it out of the ordinary?

I'm thinking it's just that bobcats are fairly common sights in the countryside here, and his mamma was quite literally a barn cat. She lived there to catch the mice. And evidently a bobcat caught her at the wrong(right Grin) time!
You can sometimes even catch sight of them along the highways here. A friend of mine pulled over to watch a bobcat kit playing with a small stone across the road! I just wish she'd have had a video cam!
Mr. Stubbs at his heaviest weighed in at 21lbs of pure muscle. With the weight loss he's suffered over the last year, he's now 16lb. He used to be one of the strongest cats I've ever had the misfortune of trying to hold down Grin(the vet wanted to examine something years ago- don't remember what). All I know is it took two of us, because he was extremely TICKED!!! Cheesy
