We decided to try fostering a couple of ferrets, as the rescue here is overwhelmed. Meet Zeus and Athena:

Zeus and Watson:

Zeus:

Sleeping Athena(almost the only time I can get a decent pic of her!)

Athena and Watson:

If you're wondering why the only pics with kitties are with Watson, he's the only one willing to go around them right now Cheesy

Zeus and Athena were adopted out by the rescue foundation here. They were reapprehended a month later during a home visit. When you adopt from the ferret rescue here, you sign a contract that allows them a visit to decide how the ferret is being looked after. They have the right to reapprehend the frret on that visit.
Beofre this, they were real sweethearts. Zeus still "feeds" Athena, by bringing her kibbles to put in her mouth, but Athena has changed from before. You see, prior to the adoption, she was a real lovey cuddlebug. Now, she's a biter. I have deep bite marks on my arm, and so does hubby. She bites from fear. When I scruffed her(the most accepted and efficient way to discipline a  ferret- they generally relax their bodies, and yawn to indicate submission), she started trembling and shaking. She was really frightened by what I may do to her while scruffing. Needless to say, after giving her the "NO BITE", she got cuddles and kisses til she calmed down.

sherrylynne, this is so sad and so sweet at the same time!  The picture of Zeus in the hammock is just precious.  Thank goodness they were rescued and you have them now.  It's amazing what love can do for an animal.  All they really want is love (and a hammock).  But another Athena here on the forum??  Hope your Athena doesn't end up with a major attitude like my Athena has.....

sherrylynne..........

All I can say is Bless YOU for taking these beauties into you safe and loving home.
I'm sure it's just a matter of time before they realize they are safe.

Too late. Grin. In her bio on the rescue site, she's referred to as a "diva".
