Orijen cat food recall

Hi, this video is of my 2 cats Gus and Maurice who have been poisoned by Champion pet foods Orijen.  Gus and Maurice cannot run, roll in the sun, climb their cat trees,wash themselves, play with each other and be naughty jumping on the kitchen bench. I don't know if my cats will survive or regain the use of their hind legs or further in time have a major organ failure. This is what  4 months of eating Orijen cat food for 50% of their diet, did to them. Three cats have died of seizures, one of a spinal tumour. Fifteen have been euthanized. Dozens of cats have been affected please join our forum to see our fight.

Can you trust such a negligent company as Champion with your pets health, I did, like everyone else in Australia who thought they were buying the best for their cats and look what they have done to my beautiful cats. It should not matter if only 1 or 20 cats have died in Australia, they died because Champion petfoods sold their irradiated food here for profit, that does not sound like a caring holistic company to me

  Hello Rosella and thank you for coming here and sharing your story along with those of others who have been personally affected by Champion. I believe I speak for many, if not all of the members here in saying that we fully support you and all those that have affected kitties and in what you are trying to accomplish. Many of us were personally affected by the poisoned pet food recalls that occurred here back in 2007. So we can definitely sympathize as to what you all are going thru and the fight you have on your hands.

Welcome to this forum, Rosella; and I join you in grief and anger over what has happened to the cats in Australia fed a supposed holistic kibble that tunred out to be slow poison - Orijen (Hororjen, as someone recently called it).  I agree with you that Champion Pet Foods had been very non-chalant and negligent in studying what irradiation would do to their kibble and the possible ramifications.  In one letter, they said that they assumed it was safe because the process was required by the Australian government.  Blarney!  How can one assume that "all will be well" when the food will be "nuked"?  Goodness!  A more careful food maker will say, "Wait a minute - how much irradiation?  Is that safe?  Where are the literature to prove it? Our kibble is supposed to be holistic, cooked at low temp precisely so that blah blah blah ---- will not irraiating the food defeat ou purpose?  and so on... they shouldv'e asked questions.  Didn't they think that irradiation would nullify the supposed benefits of their much vaunted low-temp cooking process?   Its like me cooking a fresh piece of steak to medium rare and then sticking the slab in the microwave for 10 mins!  Now how smart is that?!!!

And in my phone call of 19 December to Peter Muhlenfeld that is what he said, we didn't know it was irradiated, the first we heard of it was when we got a bill for $10000 (which changed during the course of the conversation to $12000 then $17000)and I said so you didn't know? No we didn't .
And I said that it seemed strange to me that a company producing a biologically appropriate holistic cat food would allow it to be irradiated, it just didn't align with their ethic surely?

And he leapt on that with "You know, you're right! It doesn't go with our ethic " Or words to that effect.

He had me convinced there that night.

Now of course we hear different stories - it keeps changing doesn't it?

Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practise to deceive.....

I find it extremely hard believe they didn't know. That is one huge happening to "miss". I guess, kind of like the "missed" all the sharp bones in their dog food a few months back. I couldn't have "missed" it if I tried.
