I received an email message from Blue Buffalo today stating that as of Oct 06 they have removed this ingredient from their foods. Some old product is likely still on the shelves though.

Hi MissLori.  Did they share any dates or can numbers with you??  I've got 2 cases of canned food (neo mastiff) bought within the last two weeeks.  Think I'll take them back to the store and let them send the cans back unless I can find some "safe as of" dates.

Blue Buffalo guys really parse their words, eh?  Just tell us what contaminants they have found in their foods or suspect from their food sources, in which foods they supect or found them, and if the concentration is thought to be high enough to cause problems.  If there's a recall then give a date when the food is verified safe.
