Only for certified organic pet foods ingredient sources have to be disclosed to an unbiased party, which also cross checks that all marketing claims reflect the manufactoring records.

Some pet food companies have started to claim that their ingredients are all sourced in the US, but then you see such company claim to use 'US grown organic kelp' - only thing is that such thing is not yet on the market (and probably never will be).
