Gadget is snoring and sound asleep on my pillow........
This was a difficult surgery for Angel vet and she did her best to remove this tumor in its entirety but was unable to do so. The biopsy took forever and we both said that the longer it took, the better it was.
On December 17th at 10 pm Angel vet called me with the results of the biopsy.
The tumor of the upper jaw is a plasmacytoma with amyloid.
The tumor cells extend to the lateral and deep edges of the specimen.
These neoplasms are generally considered to be benign when solitary.
Complete excision is usually curative.
I had tears streaming down my face while she was telling me this and she finished by saying there really are Christmas miracles
Gadget needs to be reevaluated in 2 months or before if I see any facial swelling.
Right now, the contours of his face are so perfect again, it will be easy to see swelling.
What little was left may grow back or may not.
If it does, then Gadget will go to a Veterinary Dental Surgeon, as recommended by Angel vet. She had a consultation with the Surgeon about Gadget yesterday.
It's a little hard to keep typing....hard to see through the tears of happiness.
Christmas came a little early for me this year............
This is the best gift I've ever gotten.
Thank you to all of you for your prayers, your well wishes and most especially your support. I don't know what I would do without all of you wonderful folks.
