What beautiful kitties you have! Herne looks to be very regal so he must be the King of your pride?  Smiley

And while Herne may LOOK regal, he's got to be the biggest coward around! He's the one who's been my most stubborn holdout!

Really precious photos, thanks for posting them!  I could look at kitty pictures all day long!  My biggest kitty, Perseus, is also the biggest coward I've ever had.  I had my nephew stay with us one summer for 8 weeks and he only got to see him once (on the day he was leaving for the airport to return home, too).  If the doorbell rings, he's under the bed for a couple of hours at least.  We live in a new development with lots of door to door solicitors, so my husband disconnected the doorbell so Perseus doesn't freak out all day!

Your kitties all have such unusual names.  Is there a story behind them?

Still waiting for Bonkers to post pics of her kitties......

Mr. Stubbs got his name because he looked like a brick with legs! Big body, big head, short little legs, and stubby twisted tail(birth defect).
Are you familiar with Edgar Allen Poe? There's a story called "Tomb of Ligiea". She looked identical to the cat in the movie, even to the pose and attitude!
Herne, because he was always looking for something, constantly. So, Herne the Hunter, after one of the old Celtic Gods.
Watson, well...let's just say he's no Sherlock!

And for the ferts:  Lucrezia, 6 m. old

Vincent, 1yr. old

Sinnead, 2 yrs old

And Boris(in the back), Vincent's sibling

Unfortunately, when the ferrets are out, Mr. Stubbs has to go into the office, as I can't trust him around them. He's the typical grumpy old man Roll Eyes. Ligiea is fine, until Vincent's obsession with her manifests! For some reason, he absolutely adores her, and follows, and tries to lay down under her tummy. Which she doesn't take to very well Grin. She's never bitten or clawed at him though. Just a lot of hissing and snarling and running!
Herne is curious about them, and frightened of them at the same time. And Watson is their playmate. He actually seems to prefer the ferrets to the other cats.

Sounds like Vincent is in love!  Cheesy  All your animals look to be very happy and healthy. Have you had your ferrets for a long time?

I love it when the fur kids' names have a true meaning behind them!  The ferrets look like precious little creatures.  Thanks for explaining the hierarchy in your house, too.

Are the ferrets all males?  What's the story behind the baby Lucrezia (and the name!)?

I wanted to post some Thanksgiving pics of the kittens, but I've searched high and low for costumes and just can't find any.  I guess I'll have to skip that holiday and go right for Christmas pics.  Stand by......

Bonkers, still waiting for pics of your fur kids......

Yes, Vincent's been in love since day one! Unfortunately, Ligiea's in "I don't like you. Go away" lol. I've had ferrets since January. First Boris(he looked like a Boris), then Vincent(same thing goes), then Sinnead in May(she was a surrender, and already knew her name), then Lucrezia. She's named for Lucrezia Borgia! All the staff at the pet store were afraid of her, because she was a biter, and frequently drew blood. They didn't know/care that she is deaf, and can't cue into verbal, like "ouch", when she'd bite while playing. When they would react to the bites, she'd get scared, and bite harder. She just needed to be trained differently. Now, it's usually just a lick, lick, chomp, lol! But not hard anymore.
Boris and Vincent are brothers, Sinnead and Lucrezia are females. Vincent is 3 1/2lbs, Boris is 2 1/2lbs, Sinnead is only 1 1/4lbs(she's a tiny little girl), and at 6m., Lucrezia is already 2 3/4lbs. She's been on raw since 11 weeks old. They all are.

Is raw food normally what is fed to ferrets? Sorry so stupid, but I have never known anyone who had a ferret before.

Yes, all 4 are on a raw meaty bone diet, and have been since Sept. of this year Grin! There are so many rumors that abound about ferrets and raw, but the only one that is true is that they are much, much, healthier! Even the vet asked what they were being fed, as she said they were exactly what a ferret should be- long, lean, and muscular Grin! Even the plaque and tarter that were building up were gone with the RMB's. That why I'm so determined to get the cats on an equally healthy diet!
