If anyone has had any experiences with this food, please post them here.

I purchased a can of this food after finding it at a PetSuppliesPlus near me. I bought the Chicken, Turkey and Chicken liver flavor. I must say that I was suprised that my two cats ate it with such gusto as there is only one other brand of canned food they will eat. Now I can at least rotate between the two.

I bought a couple of cans of the Chicken / Turkey / Chicken Liver recently. My cats enjoyed it and ate it all up.

I also picked up a couple of cans of the seafood variety but I haven't fed it to my trio of Himmies yet. Sometimes they love seafood, sometimes not. We'll see.

It's great to have another food choice for my three but I won't give it to them every day. Being older cats now (8 yrs +) I'm not sure they should have higher-protein food frequently. They're doing just fine on the regular grain-free Wellness, and others in rotation (Natural Balance, EVO, etc.).

Well, I put out bowls of the seafood CORE the other day. None of my cats were interested in it at all - and my Molly spent ten minutes scratching the floor all around one of the bowls (as if to make a point with me  Wink ) so I won't buy it again. All three really like the Chicken etc. variety however, so I'll continue buying it & giving it to them once a week or so.

But why? What is the main difference between the Core wet and the grain free Wet? I went through the ingredients and nothing popped out at me.

Thanks!

I cannot speak as to why DouG's kitties shied away from the seafood Core, but in my case none of my kitties have ever been enthused over any fished based canned cat foods, especially those that contain salmon. As to the difference between the Core and the regular Wellness varieties, the Core is higher in protein and calories and does not contain as many veggies. Another difference is that the Core contains Dried Kelp, Yucca Schidigera Extract, and Chicory Root Extract .

I should have mentioned, my cats are funny with seafood & fish sometimes. Either they'll dive in, or they won't touch it.

The only seafood or fish that they really enjoy is Almo Nature. I give them the plain tuna or salmon in rotation with the chicken drumstick, tuna & chicken, and salmon & chicken varieties - they're never finicky with any of these. Almo Nature isn't for regular feeding, but it's an excellent treat food.
