The thing is, I didn't spell out the name; I clicked on a mail to: link on their website & that's he address that their website brought up! I've chnaged the spelling a 3rd time & I think that one went through.
It sounds like they source their website design from China as well.

I am so sad to report that we have now lost Jack too.  He was doing better yesterday but took a turn for the worse today.

We had visited him at lunch time today and just returned home when the vet called.  She heard him cough and went to listen to his heart and lungs.  She picked up an arrythmia and elected to do a chest xray.  His lungs had filled with fluid.  We got to the clinic to pick him up and take him to the criticalist at the specialty hospital.  By the time we got there he was going down hill right before our eyes.  We were out of options and he was done fighting.

We are so heart broken to lose both of our dogs within 3 days of each other.  I have never felt such pain.

JC, I'm so sorry to hear this. I know you're probably just beside yourself with grief and anger. It angers me that anybody should have to go through this. My heart goes out to you.

So sad. Hang in there. If there's a way to post pictures, I'm sure everybody would love to see them. I know I would. Maybe in the Memorial forum?

And be sure to let Mr. Herrick know that their penny-pinching attempt to use a cheap Chinese source of grain protein, instead of the high quality meat protein they advertise, was squarely to blame.

JC, How devastating. I feel so helpless when I see your pain, and others. There is no excuse for this. And losing 2 of your loves in so short a time. Nothing can bring them back. There is no price for that. I am so sorry. So sorry.... Cry

Thank you all so very much.  It really helps to be able to talk with others about this and feel like you might be making a difference in whatever tiny way.  I wll post a pic as soon as I have a chance.

Joey Herrick called again this morning.  I had emailed last night with the info that we had lost Jack and asked that the email be forwarded to him.  I will say I was surprised that he called b/c it seems like there may be some avoindance in other cases around Austin.

Here are the Cliff notes, some of the info we knew already and some is new:

-Wilbur-Ellis was the supplier
-Diamond is the manufacturer
-melamine raises protein content so it may have been added to the rice in order for the product to meet the spec....waterig down the vodka so to speak.
-US company Mid West labs is now testing all their ingredients PRIOR to them going into the manufacturing process.
-Direct number for anyone that needs it:  818-897-7541

He again reminded me (no need to do that!)  to send in my bills so they could pay them.

They are certainly stepping up to the plate in response to this tragedy, from a customer service standpoint. How many victims' families did the CEO of Iam's call?

But, I think they really blew it in the first place by using rice protein in a food that should have no grain, and is supposed to be hypoallergenic! I'm still having a hard time getting over that.

Looks like Blue Buffalo is on the list now.

This is not like me, but I hope there's a special place in hell for the people that would do this kind of thing.

I am a dip-doodle.  How do you post a picture?  I can't seem to figure it out.

This forum may not allow photo attachments. You may have to upload your pictures to a free online photo album site, like flickr.com, and post the link.

JC, You can also post a tiny Avatar picture beneath your name as we all do. Go to your Profile page and there is a place to add a picture and it is really easy!

JC, you can post a photo but it has to be hosted somewhere else. What you do is to put the url between image tags...

[urlAAA]  url goes here [/url]

Take out the AAA and make sure you don't have any spaces.
