Unfortunately the media has anointed Dennis Kucinich as someone who can't win;

didn't he already prove that?

As an fyi, it has been reported that a "You Tube" question was submitted regarding poison pet food & solutions. CNN chose not to use it.

it figures. not enough outcry. even in this forum here, for some reason i seem to be the only one who is major pissed with the chinese. i don't get it.

in general, there is none of the anger that the people had in the '80s with japan. and japan wasn't even exporting shoddy goods! they were just exporting a lot... and you had people smashing japanese cars on TV, this happened all the time. now, even though the chinese are doing things the japanese never came close to doing - nobody ever got killed because of japanese products, unless you count those who went into convulsions and dropped dead after listening to their pop music, which is unbearable - there is almost zero outcry against the chinese. i guess this iraq thing is a little distracting.

No. We are all pissed at the greedy Chinese businessmen, and the government that lets that happen. We just don't want to kill millions of innocent Chinese people to express our displeasure. We're nutty that way. But, you will see, if you'd take the time to read the posts, instead of plotting nuclear annihilation, that all of the regular posters have shunned Chinese food products.

And, BTW, the only people who were angry at Japan in the 80's were morons who would rather blame another country for making superior goods, sold at lower prices (despite their workers earning higher wages), than blame the industries of their own country for making high-priced crap. But, that's neither here nor there. It was America's consumer electronics industry that committed hara kari, and the auto industry is about to do the same, unless they get their heads out of their asses.

The real problem here is uncontrolled, wanton (or should I say "wonton") greed. The corrupt Chinese officials are to blame. The greedy Chinese businessmen who should be tried as murderers for deliberately selling POISON to their own people, let alone as ingredients for pet food, are to blame. The AMERICAN corporations who put profit before all else are to blame.

It's about time that we consumers let these corporations know that without us they have ZERO profit. So, they better start paying attention to us. There is plenty of money to be made honestly, ethically, and with good will. They don't need to screw their consumers and their employees in a quest for ever-increasing profits and growth.

Or, we could just blow shit up. America is still pretty good at that. (It's just been the wrong shit, lately.)

yeah, if it had happened in the US (or any other democratic country), we'd know their names, the names of their companies, and they'd be in court, and in jail.

but the crimes in china are coming out of this amorphous evil entity. everything is so damn murky in that country. which is why they are getting away with murder. it's, as i said, systemic. the only way to deal with this issue is to crack down on china, hard. sanctions. visa restrictions. stop welcoming PRC officials at the white house. seize PRC assets in american banks. you know, the usual way a superpower flexes its muscles.

it genuinely puzzles me why nobody in govt, neither in the executive nor the legislative branches, is calling for free and fair elections in china.

look, it's not as if they were manufacturing this stuff in china, or purchasing manufactured pet from from china. if that had been the case, of course they should have been stringently checking ingredients and standards. all they did is buy commodities, in bulk... if i had been the ceo of a major US pet food corporation, i don't think it would have occurred to me to say "hey, joe, check that shipment of wheat gluten from china, make sure it's not some industrial chemical". i mean, it's so surreal what those chinese did. it's clear off the scale in terms of corporate bad behavior. it's totally unthinkable.

i am not a big fan of US corporations. i hate the way they pay their ceo's more than, say, the entire staff of their mexican factory put together. but in this case, i think people are too quick to blame corporations. the underlying cause here is political. the unholy marriage of communist totalitarianism and rampant capitalism.

Typo. You don't need to teach me Japanese.

Chances are nothing would happen. Maybe a scapegoat would be found. But so many poliitions, especially the ones that were in power until recently, and are still in power at the white house, are so deeply in bed with big business, that they practically have free reign to do what they want.

There have recently been some import restrictions imposed. Not strong enough, of course. But, we are financially in debt to China, so don't expect too much.

Why are you puzzled? We are in debt to China. Plus, their Army is about 100 times bigger than ours. And, we can't even control a little country like Iraq. Do you think they're scared of our military?

Yes. Rampant capitalism, which includes the American corporations that shouldn't be buying shit from China, when they should be supporting US farmers. There's plenty of wheat here.

Of course, as a sane man, I was only kidding. Just poking fun at the moronic American way of shooting first and asking questions later.

...not enough outcry. even in this forum here, for some reason i seem to be the only one who is major pissed with the Chinese. i don't get it.
Are you kidding?  Frankly, I'm pissed at everyone.  I'm pissed at the Chinese gov, I'm pissed at our gov, and I'm pissed at society for having their heads buried in the sand.  I'm also pissed at all the idiots on the internet that want to do nothing but argue incessantly and blabber foolishness.  And if you say one more time that we aren't pissed enough on this forum when we all spent so much time venting our "pissedness", then I just might become pissed at you too Grin.  Hello nick.  I'm happy to meet another pissed person, although I don't share all your viewpoints.  (Excuse my language.  I don't normally use the "p" word, but I'm pissed about this and have been for a while.  I don't know how else to say it.)  By the way, welcome to the forum nick. I'm actually a very friendly person and have been known to interject humor....even though I'm serious...strange mix....?  Perhaps all this insanity has pushed me over the edge into some kind of haze. Undecided.  Or maybe I'm just "pissed", and that's all. Wink   I'm very, very sorry to hear about your cat nick.  That is so sad.

@davis

nice to come across another person who is p!ssed. actually, garyp is also p!ssed, but he seems to be primarily p!ssed at me. as they say, when going gets tough, the... the non-tough turn on each other.

thank you for the welcome to the forum. but, as this thread has confirmed, forums and i don't mix that well. this is my last post. take good care of your cat, give it lots of attention.
