The world's cutest cat

My cat is now eating canned food, but he still gets some dry.  I have started mixing some Evo dry into his diet, which I alternate with Cal Natural.  I have to be honest, I do not like the phosphorus content in this one for my older cat, but he seems to be doing well so far.  Another thing I do not like about the Evo is that it is so full of crumbs.  In fact, crumbs is putting it mildly...it is downright powdery and all of that is wasted, because my cat will not eat crumbs and powder.  I practically have to sift the food before I put it in his bowl.  The bottom of the bag is the worst.  Maybe I got a bag that had been heavily handled or something, but I suspect it is the nature of this food, since it does not have the grains that would hold it together.  It's an unfortunate negative with this formula.

Yeah, all the bags of Evo that I purchased had the same "powder" at the bottom of the bag. Orijen, which I also tried, was the same, tho to a lesser degree.  Wellness Core dry breaks up into smaller pieces, but doesn't seem to have that "powder" issue.

Evo seems to be higher in everything I don't want to give my cats, e.g., i.e., phosphorus, magnesium, fat, calories, etc., except taste. They go nuts for Evo. Not so nuts for Wellness.

LOL - I can just imagine how fat my two big cats would get on EVO - at over 500 calories a cup!

Grin I can certainly understand the calorie concerns for fat kitties, but that's not an issue with my cat.  The extra calories is one of the reasons I stated using it.  I want my cat to gain some weight, although he's not what I would call dangerously skinny, but he's a bit lighter than his ideal weight.

The EVO ancestral for cats was liked very much. I was so relieved to have found one that all 3 liked to replace the recalled cwap I had been using.

I used up a bag and the next one was gritty throughout. Really gritty. I ordered another bag and it was the same way. Natura did not repond to my complaint with the picture of the grit included. After the initial response from the company I purchased it from indicating they were contacting Natura,  they didn't respond again either, not even to my followup inquiries.

I really hated that this company didn't respond and that the online store also ignored it. Neither are on my list to use again.

Picture of grit is better than words.
