     dog food ingredients

Hi, this is my first post on this board.  I would like to know now I can verify the quality of the ingredients of a particular dog food?  I am an American  living in France and the price of premium dog food here it outrageous!@!!!  I have a 15 yr. old german shepheard who has to be on Hill's K/D food.  It is now costing me 77 dollars for 1 15k bag (one month supply).  At that price I'm sure I can either make her food myself or find something else out there.

Thank you for your responses in advance!

Mary

I am wondering if you have researched any foods or spoken to your vet about any foods that may be simmilar in dietary needs for your K/D doggie.  I am not really sure although I have read that K/D dogs need more high quality protein.  Maybe a homemade diet would be better?  How long has your doggie had a k/d?
