Does anyone still use Natural Balance and if so, how's it going?
Just curious!

I don't and will never use NB.  You know what is the scarry part... I was about to switch to NB right before they recalled.  I just thank God that I didn't.  I don't know what I would have done...  I feel such sympathy for those who lost their family members, I can't immagine.

I was talking to the owner of the pet supply store where I get my cat's food, and asked him if any of the recalled brands have rebounded in sales. He said that Nutro was still quite slow, but that sales of Natural Balance were doing nicely. (This was about a week ago before the botulism recall.)

I was shocked because Natural Balance was one of the manufacturers which had lost all credibility (at least with me) during the recall.

Wow, that's pretty surprising. I wouldn't think NB would have rebounded that quickly. A lot of it has to do with marketing though!

On an IBD forum that I read from people are using NB's restricted diets - i.e. peas and ___.  Having an IBD cat myself, the issue is that there are very few companies that make such a diet.  I am lucky that my cat has not had to go that route.

Natural balance is still around and advertising in Petco's flier today along with Nutro, Royal Canin, etc. (7/29/07). "Buy any 15 or 17 lb bag, get 2 13oz cans free."
I am not surprised at all as most people are back to buying previously recalled dry foods, Menu, Diamond and other formerly recalled canned foods and playing pet food roulette with their dogs and cats health. It's hard to believe when there are choices out there with no history of any problem at all, EVER. It may take a little time to find them but in my mind my dogs are worth it. Oh well I say fool me once shame on you but if you fool me twice shame on me. Those who continue to have problems with pet food will have to look to themselves sooner or later.
