Dear fellow forumers.... what are your views on Taurine?

Is it good for Pets?

What about this brand found in Amazon? Is it a good and trusted source/brand?

yes! Taurine is extremely important. YOu'll find it in raw meats, especially. Eggs are also a great source. In a raw food diet, it's extremely important to make sure your dog (or cat!) gets enough taurine. Higher concentrations can be found in organ meats - brain, heart (really great)..... a lack of taurine in your pet's diet leads to renal failure.

Thanks for the great info. It seems that Taurine is an important nutrien!

Eggs and heart are easy to find here, and are a great source Smiley

  Sorry but I have never heard of renal failure being caused by a lack of taurine although a diet deficient in taurine can cause blindness and/or heart problems.

I have not heard of renal failure due to insufficient taurine either. Here is a good article I came across tonight. It is very informative:
