This is too funny.  I love it.  Grin

P.S.  Geff, how is your eye doing?  I hope the surgery went well and it was a success.

Hi Davis - thank you for asking. I don't know for sure yet if it's a success. Long story short, I have a HUGE phobia about my eyes. the doc wants me to keep the recovering eye open, but what I see is too scary to do so in the very brief moments I've opened it in any light. I'm hoping to be able to force myself to open the eye after the gas bubble they put in for healing disapates, which should have already happened; hopefully tomorrow.

One thing i did learn; before the surgery I was told 20/100 vision was best outcome. I ASSUMED that meant without glasses. Turns out they meant 20/100 WITH glasses.  That's not good.

Other then the eye, most of my strength is back to normal. It just really bites living my worst fears non stop 24/7.

There must be a reason why he wants you to keep it open.  Maybe it has something to do with the achieving the best possible outcome.  What are you seeing that's so scary?  Ot is it what you are "not" seeing?  Sounds like you'll know more today. 20/100 is much better than no vision at all. And I assume your other eye is okay?  I understand about living your worst fears.  I think I've been doing that for years. Wink Hang in there.

Hi Davis - I suspect you're correct on most if not all that you wrote.  Phobias are overruling common sense here a bit.

2 things have been upsetting: A gas bubble was inserted to help with healing. Don't know if you remember the 60's light shows done with colored gel & an overhead projector? That's mostly what I've ben seeing with the gas bubble. One time I accidently opened it & everything looked like rubber.

Thanks God the gas bubble seems to be gone today. As of last night when I forced myself to keep it open, everything was very blurry & it's very light sensitive. I hope this isn't as good as it gets, or i may be switching to the Johnny Depp look.

I can't say I've ever experienced the 60s light shows you're referring to, but I can "imagine".  I'd say it is very normal for things to look odd and blurry right now, and also very normal for the eye to be light sensitive after being closed for so long, in addition to all the trauma it's been through.  Geez, my eyes get light sensitive just from being a night owl.  I highly doubt that this is as good as it gets.  You just need to give it some time.  My uncle recently went through a horrific situation with his eye and nearly completely lost it to an extreme accident.  They didn't know if he'd have any vision left if/when he ever healed, but as time went on, his vision did improve dramatically.  I don't think anything was as bad as that injury.  He almost died from the intense, prolonged pain alone.  So don't lose hope.  By the way, nothing wrong with being a pirate either.  Cool

I love the cartoon. lol That's great.

Hi Geff...I hope you get to feeling better soon and that your eye heals better than you are expecting. You sound a bit like me...I'm extremely impatient when it comes to letting my body heal!
