Anyone have suggestions for good dog treats?  The Pupcorn and Lean Treats I've been giving my little ones have some ingredients I'm not really comfortable with.

Pupcorn Ingredients:
Corn flour, wheat flour, natural chicken flavor, powdered cellulose, chicken, canola oil, dried cheese product, mono and di-glycerides, corn syrup, yellow #6, lecithin.

Butler Nutrisentials Lean Treats Ingredients:
Skinless Chicken, Chicken Liver, Corn, Chicken By-Product Meal, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Wheat Flour, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Phosphoric Acid, Salt, Potassium Sorbate and Calcium Propionate and BHA and Citric Acid (Preservatives), Iron Oxide.

I've been limiting my dog's treats to freeze-dried beef, liver, or beef lung.  I feel safer going this route since the ingredient list always reads:  100% ____.  As far as I know, companies that provide this are:  Halo, Merrick's, Benny Bully's.  Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion!  The local dog bakery carries Merrick products, so I'll see if they have the freeze dried treats and get some for my little ones to try.

Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated, also.

Well, we went to the dog bakery, and here's what we got:

Breath Biscuits by Merrick
Ingredients:
Chicken, Whole Grain Barley Flour, Brown Rice, Chicken Meal, Rolled Oats, Whole Potato, Whole Apple, Rice Bran, Flaxseed Oil, Poultry Fat, (preserved with Mixed Tocopherols), Calcium Carbonate, Yeast Culture, Menhaden Fish Meal, Dried Alfalfa, Yucca Schidigera Extract, Chlorophyl, Rosemary, Peppermint.

Sam's Yams Bichon Fries by Front Porch Pets
Ingredients:
100% Sweet Potato

Mother Nature Puppy Treats by Natura Pet Products
Ingredients:
Whole Ground Wheat, Milk, Cottage Cheese, Eggs, Chicken, Turkey, Chicken Fat [preserved with Mixed Tocopherols (a natural source of Vitamin E) and Citric Acid], Oatmeal, Rice, Apples, Sea Salt.

Both of my little ones liked the Puppy Treats, but they LOVED the Breath Biscuits.  Only one liked the Bichon Fries (the other one chewed on it for a while but didn't eat it).

The bakery owner said he'll be adding the freeze dried Halo treats soon, so I think we'll try those next.

Found dog biscuits at a local health food store. They are called Beyond Nutrition made by Owen & Mandeville Ingredients are: oats, honey, coconut oil, skim milk, vanilla. web site is: www.ompetproducts.com. So far my dog loves these and so do I as there is no wheat, corn, soy or anything else I would not feed her in them.

Dream Treats by Wysong(that's how I first came across the company).

There is at least one online store that supposedly sells only "natural" pet foods, treats etc.

We get our salmon oil and salmon dog treats from www.alaskandogteats.com.  The salmon oil is cheaper than Grizzly and the treats are amazing.  They even have salmon dog treats with Blueberries, or Cranberries.

I give mine 4 main treats -

*Mother Nature Carrot Cakes Recipe from Natura - I buy the 20 lb. box because of the size of my girls (lab-samoyed, mastiff).
*Buddy Biscuits from Cloud Star - I usually go to their clearance section and buy the "damaged" biscuits.  All that means is the boxes may be damaged or they may be in pieces.  But for the $$ savings, you can't beat it.
*Ultramix Peanut Butter Biscuits by Castor & Pollux
*Holistix by Eagle Pack

I use Natures variety freeze dried raw as treats mostly. But I have used Wellness treats and I like these treats called A Dogs Life. Mine loves the Steak & Frites
