Would appreciate any information on I.V.D. potato based diet for pets. Anyone have a site that will give more information on this type of food? Contains no grains whatsoever so might be a safe food to feed. Thx in advance for your help.

IVD is now part of Royal Canin, as is Waltham.   For info on this & other veterinary diets, see: www.thepetcenter.com/imtop/td.html .  There are other, non-Rx, brands with potato or oatmeal - Eagle Pack comes to mind.

The Royal Canin Urinary SO rx'd for one of my cats (had bladder & kidney stones) was preserved with BHA/BHT. Certainly not my idea of safe, or healthy.  My kitty would immediately vomit both the wet & dry, so I tossed the food.

Thank you for the information. I will refrain from feeding anything like that to my dog. She's doing fine on Karma dry mixed with Evangers canned which is what I had her on when this recall happened.

My dog has been eating IVD duck and potato for about 18 months.  I don't want to feed IVD anymore -- I check Royal Canin at least once a day for any additional recalls -- unfortunately I haven't been successful switching her to something else yet.  I wish I could do an abrupt switch, but her tummy just can't take it.
She is still eating the canned IVD, but the potato protein in the dry food makes me nervous, so I'm not feeding the dry duck and potato anymore.
