Evy,
Yes, I am aware of how many times you have posted on here, as I am waiting for the answers to the questions Sarah asked as well as she.

Also, as it has been pointed out many times before, you came on this forum of your own free will at a time when pet parents are feeling their most vunerable due to the direct actions of all invloved in the pet food industry, so you should then expect direct and "terse" questions to be asked of you, which by way of your own answers will only affect your own reputation, be it trashed or otherwise.

So sorry, but I won't take your bait by offer of calling you to only hear, on my dime I might add, more of your exaggerated emotional self-aggrandizements.

Yes, I know your replies are for your blog, but this information would be just as useful here too.  Or, you can just say not to have any Kumpi thread at all, and instead direct all inquiries to your web site.
I disagree that Evy should ask to have this thread or board discontinued just because she is setting up her own blog. This board is not just for questions to Evy and that was not the original intent of any of these boards. The members here should still have a place to discuss the food, so these threads will serve a very good purpose, just as the boards for other foods do.

I think everyone who has posted on this particular thread has made some very good points in one way or another, and this should be left here so that others can read it and respond, if they choose. I also want to say "KUDOS" to Evy for setting up her own blog. I think it's an excellent idea. She can post a new thread announcing it when it's ready, with a link to the blog (if Therese approves), so all of your questions to her and the answers are still accessible from here. I just hope that she allows everyone to post on it freely, and not just a selection of certain posts and questions.

No, I don't intend to have this thread or the Kumpi board deleted.  And when Evy sets up a blog of her own I'll be happy to post a link to it in here.

I'd like to ask that people give each other a little bit of slack, please! There haven't been many pet food companies willing to say boo to us, let alone talk about their foods. Evy has said she's extremely busy and offered her personal email address and phone number...please use them. Since this isn't her website, I'm sure it's not as high a priority as her email or phone number.  Once you contact her, you can always report back here about the info you find out about Kumpi foods.

wow..I finally allowed myself the luxury of taking several days off of reading hours of blogs and articles about dog food...

I return and am happy to see Evy has her own blog for questions and answers and I am also happy that we can continue to disucss Kumpi here as well...

My dogs switched to Kumpi about a month ago and have done nothing but flourish since...I realize how important asking detailed questions is as I surely wish I had done a better job of that prior to now after over $7,000 spent in vet and emergency treatment for our GSD Buddy...

Evy and Kumpi were my last attempts to trust anyone in the petfood industry and so far it has been a wonderful experience..She is there as a caring and responsible person and the food is everything it was promised to be...and it also arrives in a very timely manner after being ordered..

I went from someone who never really worried about dogfood to someone who had to worry about every detail of dogfood and now Kumpi has allowed me to start again enjoying some of the rest of my life as well..I must admit, I do worry that Kumpi will become so popular that I have trouble keeping my dogs supplied...

I love GS Dogs too!  Especially since I have one Smiley

It has been a hectic week since the company that sources our ingredients has slammed the door shut on beef and pork BOTH now.  Keep an eye on kumpi.com for the new formulation.  Also a new statement on the home page.  I am jazzed!!!

Corn will always be a factor in the product and I'm hoping that enough has been read that consumers are beginning to realize that 'meat' as the first ingredient just means a lot of room for grain.  Grain as the first ingredient means a lot of room for 'meat' !!!  The results from trying the product shows Smiley

Anyways, Alek0 THANKS for your patience in my answering your question about the minerals in Kumpi products.  As much as people hate to see the word proprietary, the fact is (and this is what I thought, but did not want to commit it to print until I knew for sure, hence the lapse of time) the ratio of chelated minerals to non-chelated minerals is VERY aggressive.  The supplementation in Kumpi products (pre/probiotics, kelp, chelated minerals, digestive enzymes, yucca schidigera) is in fact a blend formulated by my nutritionist that is trademarked - and asking him how much of what would be like asking Coca Cola, "So, what's your recipe?"  Or asking Hershey chocolate specific questions like that as well.

What I can say is that none of the vitamins or minerals (or any of the ingredients!) in Kumpi products come from China.  The ratio of chelated minerals is not an insignificant amount to just 'label dress' and put them on the ingredient panel as a warm fuzzy for the consumer.  Same with the yucca schidigera - there are many companys to buy it from, but my nutritionist stays with the highest quality.  He does work for zoos and other entities that deal with exotic formulations and his customers are not concerned with cost - they are concerned with results.

My new statement will have a lot more information and there is a link to a blog that I started on both kumpi.com and kumpikat.com.

NO ONE worry about not being able to buy Kumpi products.  I have a good idea of my inventory flow and the food is usually only one to three months out from the date of production.  Right now, most of the food has been made in the past month since it's flying outta here.  BUT I am still steeled against not being available at Petsmart, Petco, Costco, or any other major type of chain.  It even takes more than $$$ to become a distributor or retailer.  I need to know that when the food leaves my warehouse, it will be cared for with the same 'Mama Bear' attitude I have.  I've managed quite a few growth spurts and the Lord is helping me through.

Even when I was still working in the field of dog behavior (and I was the only instructor who was a Colorado Veterinary Medical Association Affiliate - invitation only member kinda thing) and I was wildly popular, ALL of my students had my home and cell phone numbers.  If they were in a Wednesday morning class and had a Saturday afternoon problem, they still had access to me.  My style has always been keeping it personal and looking back, I guess I tend to 'live my career' with a dedication to those who trust me with their money.  Even to the last class I taught, anyone was always able to reach me - and I don't see things being any different with the pet food career.  I mean, folks love to talk about their passion!  Yeah, it's been more hours a week, but they've been fun hours for me!

Thanks Evy for the prompt answer and the assurance that Buddy and Sissy will continue to be able to enjoy good and SAFE dogfood...What is with the beef and the pork?  YIKES!!!!

I will keep checking your website as well as your blog for any new information...but as I said in my earlier post, it is with a great relief that I can leave most of my dogfood worries up to you now..

I did weeks of homecooking huge amounts of chicken and organic brown rice and veggies etc and both dogs were enthusiastically eating the "fruits of my labors" but also always seemed hungry...I never really was sure if they were actually hungry or just "gaming the system" for more more more...

I am asking for a digital camera for my birthday so I can take some current pictures of Buddy (longhair like yours) and Sissy (traditional Rin Tin Tin look)  Their coats are massively shedding and although that is nothing new around here, the shine is something new and I do attribute it to their Kumpi diet...

I measured out our new 35# bag yesterday as I unloaded to container and it will last them 2 weeks at the  usual feeding amount..guessing I will need to mark my calendar accordingly as I DO NOT DARE to run low at this point...It would surely get ugly around here in a big hurry...

Best to you and anyone reading who wants Kumpi feedback...

Lori ~

ALL of the product has tested safe.  We just needed to do this revision since the production runs at our manufacturer kept getting kicked off schedule.  Their supplier did the smart thing by just pulling the plug on all beef and pork products altogether and help keep things flowing.  The QC standard is really high and hadn't been a problem until lately.  Can't tell you how glad I am that everyone 'behind' me has always worked with such such high expectations.  Keep remembering that I have many high profile law enforcement agencies trusting me and nothing has been for sale that has not been tested for melamine, cyanuric acid, amoriline, amorilide and aminopterin - and all test results have come back negative.  Even on the cat food, not just the dog food.  Thanks for keeping an eye on the websites, since I did post a new front page and will be spending my weekend working on my blogging.

I love all dogs, all cats, all people who trust me.  But above all, I love my own dog and cat - that's why I even started this!

Cindy and Sarah - I have been reading this thread (being a customer who switched to Kumpi based upon the countless amount of time Evy has replied to my E-mails and taken my phone calls) and I have to say - what is the question that Evy hasn't answered?

She *specifically* asked you to reiterate the question and so far, I have seen Cindy make it sound like Evy is avoiding it, and Sarah hasn't replied with the question she's waiting on.  Also, Evy has posted her phone number, so I don't understand the need to try to make her look bad.

Clearly she has fans (good customers) so she must be doing something right - with all the skepticism going on with the "pet poison" companies who scammed us when we thought we were buying premium food (like I was with Nutro Ultra) - Evy has gone above and beyond to make me want to defend her.

Either restate the question you're trying to ask her or stop trying to make it sound like she's a bad person.  Talk about petty.

Michael,
The issue with me is not to make her "look bad," albeit if she does...she's doing it herself. To people who thrive on her 'style' of communication, of course she looks like a hero.

The issue is that she 'fills in' her answers with a lot of overly emotional, self-aggrandizing, while at the same time just 'grazing' the question at hand. I know that phoning her will result in the same kind of talk at our expense. And don't forget that after all...she admitted that some of the info wanted was "'proprietary," which many of us regard as BS.

Also, I suspect that this is her 'method' of 'sneaking in' advertising. But to me it's not all that sneaky.

Me and people like Sarah just want the transparent facts please. Straight forward, to the point, and without all the fluff.

Cindy ~

Sorry, but this is very emotional to me since I have lost one dog and one cat to this industry.  I can't adjust my style and who I am to please you or anyone else.

Grin  Don't even tempt me to be self aggrandizing lol.  There's a lot of stuff I don't post.

People get angry at how companies hide.  Then I come and post (and I still do say I answer what I can and find out what I can't and then post) and no wonder other companies don't come on here.  Getting attacked for my style; being too emotional.  Possibly, someone else would get attacked for seeming too cold?

I post mostly to support the people who came onto the blogs to support me and not duck 'n hide on them.  I type fast, I let my emotions show.  That's me.  I have no claim in knowing how to market or post to 'please the public'.....all I can do is be me.  You don't like me, that's cool.  It just seems peculiar while my food hasn't killed a pet, my manufacturer is nowhere near recalls, I've been on many blogs other than this one (takes time) and my food has been tested for melamine, cyanuric acid, amoriline, amorilide and aminopterin since the beginning of April, and will continue to be tested before sale - that is someone to get down on?

Let's not lose sight of the bigger picture.  This industry HAS to be changed.  I am just hoping people don't lose their steam in contacting congressman/senators/representatives by phone/mail and making sure they hear from us.  I am first in line to want the big skirts 'they' can hide behind to get whisked away.

Where is Kevin Trudeau when we need him??  lol

I for one want mostly to keep people energized and going with keeping this debacle front and center with people we can hope will make a difference.  Durbin's bill is just sitting there now.  We need to keep the steam going and not let weariness keep us from pushing on them.  That is what they are counting on.  But we can't stop now.  Now more than ever, we NEED to keep on them and even if the victories are slow in coming, we need whatever changes we can get!!

I have started another thread with summary of unanswered questions from this one.

I appreciate the fact that your food has tested safe, and I hope more pet food manufacturers will start testing their food. However, I do not appreciate waiting for weeks to hear "this information is proprietary" and I also get that impression that you are being evasive.

What I or other people think about your style does not matter. What matters is whether you are providing clear and succint answers. In my opinion, you provide lengthy answers with very little information in them. I hope you are not taking this as a personal attack, that is definitely not my intention. I am just trying to explain the imrpession that me and some other people here get from your answers to some simple questions.

This thread is now closed. I'll keep an eye on the thread with the questions, and should it get at all out of hand, like this one has at times, I'll close it as well.

PLEASE...Evy has mentioned MANY times that you can contact her by phone or email. If you're not happy with what she does or does not say here, please take her up on her offer and contact her personally. I think some of you may be losing sight of the fact that this is not Evy's website, so therefore it is NOT her top priority.

Again, if you don't like what you read from Evy on here, contact her personally:
Phone: 303.693.6533
