Why ban Chinese food and medicine products? Gosh. I just don't know.

Report traces tainted medicine to China
A Chinese factory was the source of a counterfeit chemical that killed dozens of people in Panama after it was used in human medications, a newspaper reported.

What's amazing is that the US still allows food and drug imports from China.

Whenever there is a case of Mad Cow in the US, the Japanese gov't bans US beef. Take no chances. Simple. I think that British or Canadian beef might still be banned there because of the higher instances there.

Why the hell is our gov't still taking chances with our safety. This is bullsh**!

No "MAYBE" on the "BUSHSH*T" Sylvia!

You're so right Geff when you say it's amazing when stating it's amazing that we're still alive!!!....

I've always wondered why there has been such an increase in human diseases in the last 10 years! I think a lot of us have just been blaming it on "environmental" things (which I'm sure DO play a PART)......but what about the rise in things such as Autism?

Autism is one thing that I've played particular attention to as my son is a High Functioning Autistic........bu there really has been a documented rise in Autism in the last 10 years or so.....at all levels.

It would be interesting to do a research on Chinese imports that could be responsible for Neurological disorders...for instance Folic Acid vitamins that women take during pregnancy?.......Look what "Thalidimide" caused back in the 50's till it was banned in the early 60's!

Just some "food" for thought!............

Just like I make my own petfood ......I'd be making my own baby food these days too. I had many friends who did it years ago!

When a person is scared to take something as simple as Vitamin C......all definitely
is NOT right in this world!.......WAKE UP BUSH!!!!....is it any wonder this man is so disliked?..........

It's not him personally. (Although he is an idiot.) It's the general rule of his party that what is good for big business is good for the country. People can talk all about the wacko neocons and religious right. But, the true mandate of that party is to let big business do whatever the hell they want.

We should see some change now that the various Congressional committees are chaired by the other party (which has its own competence problems). But, most of the bureaus and departments and commissions and administartions are run by political appointees of the buffoon-in-chief. So, in that sense you are right about it being Bush's fault. Just remember that he is controlled by others. (He probably thinks he's being "advised.)

Willy,
I met a woman years ago with an autistic son. She was convinced intwas because of all the vaccines that they push on the kids.

Lo and behold we are nowadays having troubles with all the vaccines they are ushing on our animals.

What do you think?

Cindy.....

Some may really disagree with me on this one, but...

I am not a believer in ALL the supposed BENEFITS of routine vaccines. I just had mine vaccined last weekend.....first one since they were pups! Since it is required by law to have your pets vaccinated every 2 years for Rabies (used to be EVERY year)....well I guess it was time.

Since my dogs are 5 and 6 yrs old.....it will be the last set of shots (except for rabies) that I am going to subject them to. Even my Vet says that every 3 years for the booster shots are acceptalble!

I think that the less the better. That's just my take....for my situation. I'm sure that there are other situations where people need to vaccinate more frequently so I don't want people to think this is a "I'm right, you're wrong" thing......it's just a what's right for MY dogs thing.

This is not to say that I avoid regular check-ups....they get that....but without the shots! They're very healthy at this time.....and I'm sure will be even healthier in the future since of the changes I'm making to their diets.....which will ultimately improve their immune systems in the long run........ We have a law here about rabies that after the first 2 shots 1 year apart they can go 3 years in between.

As for the others, I don't give them anymore at all.

My youngest dog (she's 2.5 years now) got 2 sets last year after she came to live with us...and that's it.

I used to be one of those vaccinating for everything types too, but not anymore.

I'm sure people do feel in certain situations they need more.

My mother-in-law moved about a year ago to Washington St. but before they moved they took in their twin mini pinchers to the vet to get checked up.  They gave them boosters at that time... they hadn't been vaccinated in probably over 6 years.  About 1 week after they got vaccinated, the female got very ill.  She was diagnosed with immune hematolic anemia and passed away about a week after that.  I am sure it was the vaccines.  She was a very healthy dog.  I am scarred sick of IMHA and for that reason, I will never vaccinate again.  My vet even agreed with it stating that she believes that IMHA is sometimes brought on by vaccines.   (many things can, but I truley believe that was the reason)

Yeah, that's the problem, you can't go to certain places with your animals, without proving that you've vaccinated them. Even if you know what's best for your pets, you can't convince someone who doesn't know the latest developments on this issue.

The FDA released a bulletin yesterday advising US drug companies to check their supplies of glycerin for contamination with diethylene glycol.

Notice they say "check for contamination", not check to see the glycerin isn't actually diethylene glycol instead of glycerin, which is actually the problem. They also do not mention China anywhere in the bulletin!!! (The source of the counterfeit glycerine in the Panama case, and probably the Hait cas as well.)

You might like to go to this site as it has a wealth of information not only on the pet recall but covers autism, adhd, thyroid problems among other things. Could be something helpful you could use. It is: dogtorJ.com
