American Nutrition has added a reimbursement form to their website, for those of you whose pets have become ill or died as a result of eating some of the tainted food they manufactured. However, the most they'll reimburse is $500.

Dishonest and cheap. Makes you love them even more, doesn't it.

What absolute scoundrels!  Angry  They've definitely outdone Menu by far. And don't forget that they pulled the rice protein trick "after" the tragedy was well underway. They have no shame. Money, money, money.

$500?.........What an insult!!!!!.........Nothing like rubbing a little "salt on an open wound!"

Needless to say......all the requirements needed on the claim form sets them up with all kinds of loop-holes to get out of even paying that small insulting amount!

I like to see all those responsible, thrown in jail for awhile, having nothing to eat but the petfood disguised as burgers and other things...so they don't know they're eating their own CREATIONS.....then when they DO get sick.....only offer their FAMILIEs $500 to cover any medical expenses.......or funerals from eating that crap!

My dog had no monetary value to me because he was priceless.  Menu Foods destroyed his kidneys and he died.  How am I supposed to be sure that the next pup I want to adopt hasn't been poisoned too?  The owner of this website suggested that I post here, but I have not found the ideal place in the list for those who are mostly in mourning.

Don't get me wrong, I've publicized on the internet to all my friends, I've tried to get TV coverage with no result, I've talked to Menu (rude) Foods recall line (they lied about Alpo, by the way, which I used all the time for Joe), and I'm part of what will be a large class action suit.  But the money won't bring him back or ensure that this never happens again.

Snarlah, I'm so sorry this happened to your dog.  It's so sad and so unfair.  And you are exactly right...our pets are priceless to us.  I have said this many times, but nothing enrages us more than when our babies are hurt.

You can post on any of the threads about your mourning and we will listen, but this forum on recall discussion is one of the most ideal places.  There is also a pet memorial forum for those in mourning, which you might want to post in.  And you can post on the board that pertains to the food that poisoned your dog too.

I don't know what I would do if it were my pet and cannot imagine anything worse to live with, but I do believe that my cat has been affected to a lesser degree, and his health will be affected and life shortened.  I cannot tell you how horrible this makes me feel.  We are all in this together.

Snarlah-I am sorry for your loss.  Unfortunately, I can relate all too well.  I lost 2 dogs in this whole snafu....natural balance food though.

There is no monetary replacement for these sweet dogs and cats.  $500 is about 10% of what my entire vet bill was and I still lost my boys.  What a slap in the face.

This just sucks beyond belief.

That is unbelievable.  You cannot put a price on the loss of ones pet(family)  My kitty made it, but the bills are at $2,600 and still counting.  I lost two weeks of work, staying at the vets every hour or so. going home to take care of my two goldens, one with cancer, my shetzu and my kittys sister. ( Not to mention my 86 year old mom)  I am still a basket case.  She developed diabetes as secondary to the kindey failure, ($96 vial 28 days, $16.99 for syringes.)  My mom's doctor's office gave me 2 months of the insulin thank god, and they are calling the rep to come in soon.  That is such a slap in the face,  to value what our babies have gone through.  Unbelievable. The emotional rollar coaster, the loss, the bills, there is no price on that.
