FranciscoLab....

As for over-done.....I don't know about that! It's coverage by the Media..has been so "under-done"....that many people need a forum on which to speak and reveal their experiences to others who will hopefully listen with an open mind and heart.

So true! The media will run with any story if it gets them ratings and fear sells! Take for instance the whole Taco Bell/Spinach/e coli  scare. I still eat spinach and still eat at Taco Bell.  I know TB is C@#P food but it is my guily pleasure!

Quote
I've seen many "positive" comments on certain brands....that is what this forum is also all about! But....it is only logical....that for the "good guys" to stand out.....the "bad" (whomever they be) will be revealed .....and thanks to blogs and forums......it will eventually. But until then...there will be people that become increasingly curious about those companies that remain silent still........to wonder why!

So true! Eventually we'll have to trust someone. And hopefully this fiasco will produce a better industry.  I love my pets more than some of my own family members!  Grin

The only thing that I see truly over-done.....is the length of time it's taking for all the poisonous petfood brands to trickle out......info that could have been saving pets lives a while back...... Cry

I doubt the pet food companies are trying to poison our pets, but this recall has me interested in what goes into my pets bellies.  It seems like China = bad, USA = good. Well sort of?  Undecided   As for saving lives earlier, I think I must just have been lucky.

I agree FranciscoLab.....

I don't believe that ANY petfood companies set out to harm our pets......But, it doesn't seem like they're trying to SAVE them either! I mean, look how long Menu waited to come out with the FIRST recall?.......and the names keep on rollin' on in since.....slowly but surely!

BTW.....my guilty pleasure is McDonald's double quarter pounder with fries!!!....Some times I just need that "grease fix!"........ Grin

"Truth", "plant", "weed".....?....whatever your real name is, this isn't a witch hunt.

Let me spell it out for you in my misplaced hope you or anyone else responsible for this mess might be able to grasp the simplest of concepts.  We are extremely concerned pet parents taking advantage of the amazing tool that is the internet.  I can't imagine how little we'd all know without being able to compare notes, info and sad as it is, stories of cherished fur kids dying or becoming heinously ill.  It makes me shudder just thinking about it.  Can you imagine how many more pets would have needlessly died?!!!

As I posted yesterday at Itchmo, how can pet food companies, the FDA, Menu, ChemNutra, whoever, even look pet parents in the eye? You’ll never be able to apologize ENOUGH. You dearly owe everyone who had a pet die or become seriously ill. It’s a debt you’ll never be able to pay - get it?  Gawd help your souls......oh wait.....you don’t HAVE souls, silly me…..

To everyone responsible for this travesty - can you bring back people’s cherished fur kids who were FAMILY members, not PROPERTY?  Can you explain to a child why their cat Fluffy or dog Spot died needlessly? Or to elderly folk who’s pet was their mainstay companion? Can you?

Yeah. That’s what I thought.
Another deer in the headlights look while you desperately rifle through your coached, formulaic notes for press release questions.

So forgive me "Truth-Weed" if I or anyone else take advantage of the internet while we share & compare notes.  I am 100% positive a heck of alot more pets would have died had we not shared recall info as we have done.  The FDA, AVMA whatever, can't even keep their sites updated as quickly as we can.  So perhaps, just perhaps, if you dig down waaaaay deep, you may be able to find it in your heart to forgive us for using EVERY tool in our power to save our pets from continual lies.

After reading about the 20 million chickens, I can only guess at what's coming next.  I sure hope to heck and back the ugly truth about the pet food industry brings vital change.  It's far over due and a serious wake up call to all those involved.

How any of you who caused this mess can ever meet a trusting pet's loving eyes again, is way, way beyond my comprehension.

My opinion was not to offend, but to look at  a very bad situation in a different light. I am a pet owner and lover through and through, however I don't think pet food companies were trying to deliberately hurt animals. As of now, it appears as though no one really knows what is even going on with pet food? I am sure there are many companies that are worried to no end and are doing everything possible to figure out what's going on. When I try to learn more about the facts, they seemed to be sometimes muttled with incorrect opinions, which only makes this bad situation worse. I wish you and your pets the best.

Ally.....great post!!!!

Truth B.......your last post is so full of BS that I can smell it through my monitor as I type this!!!!

First you call us "witch hunters" for wanting answers and explanations and now you shy away with...." my opinion was not to offend......etc"...are you for real?

What do you mean "nobody knows what's going on?".........Thanks to the forums and blogs (which these putrid companies are no doubt reading)....news IS coming out!!

And who are you to say what's "correct or incorrect?"....who made you judge and jury?....If you are a pet owner, you should be able to empathize with ALL comments that you see....if not, then you are close-minded.....it's been the sharing of thousands of these ideas that has precipitated tests, rallies, getting heard in the Senate etc....

Like I said earlier...you don't give people enough credit that they can discern the difference between a valid idea or just a comment that has been said from someone in the heat of the moment who is suffering through this and needs answers. Regardless of which scenario....neither are incorrect.....and both require some understanding and heart.

You wish me and my pets the best?......I hardly think you mean that, or you wouldn't have alarmed us with that first post to begin with!!!

Btw....there's only ONE LIGHT to look at this situation under.....and that is to keep pressing till it all comes out......not be meek, quiet little mice like you would suggest!

I wish your PETS the best.....soundfs like they might need it! The rest of us are searching for answers so that YOUR pets will never have to endure this!!!

Are you getting  now, perhaps, catching on?Huh..... Huh

Oh, and also Truth B....

I forgot to add in my last post......that I agree that maybe the PFI isn't or wasn't out to intentionally poison our pets.......

What a ludicrous thing to say since they're not moving to do anything to help pets either...by continually encouraging consumers how safe their petfoods are.......only till more pets die....and there is scientific evidence which forces them "out of the closet" with the rest of the dirt-bags!!!

Man....you need a dose of reality!....By the way...have you had any chicken or pork lately that may have been knowingly fed poisonous petfood by these oh so innocent PFI jerks?................and you call us the hunters!!!!

Unbelievable...... Angry

Oh touché, Willy!!!  Awesome post right back atcha!

*wildly applauds*

I'll also add that while the intent most likely was not to poison pets, the fact remains it did happen.  From what we've all learned from countless hours scouring the blogs and sharing info, it is my sincerest hope this will never, ever again happen.  For all the light our pets bring to our lives (and my dogs ARE the light of my life), we owe them to fight for honesty in pet food manufacturing and ingredient source usage.

All I want is for our pets to live long, healthy, natural length lives.
For all they selflessly do for us, isn't that the very least for which we can strive?

AGAIN Truth B.....

You're on MY team?.....this isn't a volleyball game!!!

You're "dedicted" to finding out the truth?.....Are you now saying that you're a "witch hunter" too?....I don't get you!!!

If this is your way of apologizing...it reaks!!!

I can understand if you are completely loyal (for whatever reason) to a certain brand and don't want it dragged "through the mud"....but, just say that...without the name-calling and belittling of a group of people who are doing what they can to get this tragedy resolved!

By the way....you'll understand my frustration then when reading posts like yours that try and stop people from finding the TRUTH!!!!

If you don't like the way it's being done to date........and you have a superior way of doing things.......by all means do it! The sooner the better.......what is it by the way that gives you the right to be frustrated and speak your mind...but if others do it ......it's a witch hunt?

Psssssttttttt!!!!!.....enough allready! You get more confusing with every post!

Ally, very eloquently said! Everyone, thanks for sticking together.
A thought just ran through my mind that this is a historical moment for pets. There was a time when children were treated like adults and made to work long hours. That was changed. There was a time when people with different skin colors and heritage were made to sit at the back of the bus. Smart and loving (and sometimes very angry) people worked to change that. The poor pets have been at the very bottom of the list but their time has come and we are making history, here. Those pets that died were in a way of martyrs for the pets of the future. Nothing will be the same, now, and all your hard work is making a difference!!! But with every post, someone here risks getting blasted. That is sad. This Forum is a place for giving and receiving help.
I think a real apology is in order, too, Truth.
