Lacy,
I was given TWO POUCHES of WET DOG FOOD by the By Nature vendor. They said CHINA. I emailed By Nature when I saw that as I was told, and so were many others, that everything was USA  made and very safe.  After a week I got an email back and it apologized for the vendor giving out misleading information. That was way back in early April so I no longer have the email nor do I remember  the name of the sender. As I stated, I tried last night to locate where By Nature is actually manufactured and could not. It was more out of curiosity as I no longer buy any pet food without a direct source and way more information provided (with easy access to that information). I can't seem to find anything on it in Theresa's list of manufacturers either. I am not saying it is bad in any way, just would not deal with them myself. I also do not use any canned dog food of any kind at this point.  Do use Kumpi and Honest Kitchen with my own meat/fish stews as  supplements. Just me. Have a good day.

Thanks for the information Sylvia!  So apparently the pouches are made in China.  Yikes.  I don't think I feel comfortable with a company that would have anything made in China, even if their canned and dry is made elsewhere.

Lacy, they definitely have pouches. It's on their website:
http://www.bynaturepetfoods.com/productpages/catdogmain.php

Is that the right website...the company we're talking about?

I got a small trial size of their dry and it seems that so far is not affected by any notice I have seen. But I will keep scanning. Is it the wet that is made it China?

Been trying to feed my 9 y o overweight Tonkinese healthier canned food since the recall made aware of dangers and risks: I introduced him to Avoderm and By Nature Organics - while he partially turned up his nose at Avoderm, he VOMITED By Nature TWICE, but guess what? Samson ADORES his Fancy Feasts (no wheat gluten varieties) and sofar has never had any stomach problem with those, which, compared with By Nature are definitely less healthy! WHY IS THAT??

Currently perplexed and confused...

By Nature DOES have pouches as well as cans. The cans are organic, the pouches are not.  Saw them in Petsmart today. I picked up one of each flavor of the cans.... we'll see how the kitties like them! You can tell they're made by Evangers... the cans have the same water/rust marks on them as Evangers. Smiley

By Nature now have a variety of 95% meat canned foods for both cats and dogs. I purchased a 95% Beef & Liver flavor of the cat food today. Have not tried it yet but on the bottom of the can it says Made In Canada. So now I am curious as to who is producing this food for them??

By Nature site says they are still a division of Blue Seal Feeds, Inc

http://www.blueseal.com/aboutus/

Perhaps an email asking point blank who cans their 95% Meats?
Hope it's not still Evangers and certainly hope it's not Menu.........hey, I can dream can't I???

What is odd is that the dog varieties of the 95% meat are made in the USA, but the cat varieties are made in Canada.  Huh  I am awaiting a call back from By Nature to gain more info.

I am new to this forum and have been wanting to add some new canned cat food into my cats rotation. I searched the web and came across Evangers Turkey and Butternut Squash and By Nature 95% meat and Organics. I really liked the fact that they did not have all the grains, fillers, veggies, and fruits (except for the squash). I found good things about these foods on the web so I went and purchased the Evangers online. I should receive this week. And I am now trying to find where I can buy By Nature online here in Canada.

Fast forward to today....I came across this forum and posts on By Nature and Evangers and now I am a little concerned with my choice of canned cat food for my cats.

How does every one feel about these brands today and do you still feed them to your cats?

I have on ocassion used the ByNature for my cats and have had no problems with it to date. Tried the Evangers a long time ago and my cats would not eat it. I  now use Natures Variety Instinct. I like that NV has a wide variety of meat sources from which to choose. Another brand that makes a 95% meat canned food is Evo. Unsure as to whether either of these are available to you in Canada or not. Let us know how the new foods work out for you!
