I have used California Natural canned food to "spice" up my dog's kibble as they are picky eaters at times. It has none of the suspect ingredients and is not on any recall list. I am "off cans" of any kind for now but may use it again in the future.

I now feed my dog Calif. Natural Fish and Sweet Potato since I am off rice unless I cook it myself for my allergy prone Westie.   As for canned, I m going to  use what Merrick I have.   You dont know who or what to trust anymore. Mia

I've fed my dog WET Cal Nat during her recovery.

Her energy is now almost 90% of normal and
her blood work came back clean today  Grin

I also gave her Kumpi dry, mixed w/ Cal Nat.
I alternated Cal Nat with Solid Gold (canned).

I am now giving her home cooking, wet Solid Gold and
wet EVO, each one once a day and always mixed w/
Kumpi dry.

UPDATE I'm switching to their EVO line of wet food
when my stock of CN (Exp. 1/4/09) is done.

I'm trying California Natural dry chicken and rice today for the first time, having looked at the ingredient list carefully, and after calling Natura.  I was impressed with their responses to my questions, and especially with the fact that they are testing every single batch for melamime.  The people I spoke to acted like the recall was a big deal and did not try to downplay it, as did someone at Canidae.
