Well its been a week and a half that I have been feeding my 3 dogs the Dry Evo with small bites, and my 2 cats the Evo Cat Dry food...  and my 3 ferrets the Dry Ferret Evo...  The transition to this food was so easy even my fussy cats & Ferrets took to it and didnt seem to mind, and my dogs gobbled it up   So I am hoping with it being No Grain that it will not be added to any lists.  I was feeding them another food that was good quality but it had some rice that was not recalled but i decided to change everyone to make sure that they were safe.  I never feed any of them any store bought treats as I have been making my own ;o)

I might try Evo dry, as well. Maybe mix it in with the California Natural that I've been feeding. (Both from Natura.)

That way, the total carb intake will be lower than CalNat alone, and the calories won't be as high as Evo alone.

CALORIES !!!
That may be why my g'hound mutt doesn't have full energy.
Premium foods and no junk food & treats.

Thanks Geff.

FWIW
She used to let me jog 2-3 blocks ahead and run full speed to catch me,
then jump up and down to lick my face... or rip my throat w/ her
german shepherd jaw (joking).

Her energy is now 85-90% of January level.

I drove almost an hour to a feed store to find more brands of dog food.  I came home with Canidae dry and Innova Evo dry and canned.  My dogs refused the Innova Evo.  I tried mixing it in small amounts with their old food...or even with the Canidae.  They'd eat around it.

I am quite unhappy as I spent a good deal of money on it.   I've given it a week and still no interest.

This morning I put out a different brand of canned food - (it hasNOT been recalled but the manufacturer has several related products that have been recalled, so I've been very reluctant to feed it) - anyhow, they cleaned it up and ignored the Evo.   So it's not a matter of that it's a "new" food to the dogs and so they are reluctant to eat it ... because this other can was a "new" food too (I had bought two cans and the next day read about recalls with the manufacturer so hadn't fed it yet)

So I'm going to stick with the Canidae dry... and keep looking for a canned.  Any suggestions?

wow... i am truely suprised as i even think the evo dog or cat or ferret food actually smells quite good...

The way my 3 dogs gobble it up would make anyone think they havent had food for days...  and my cats are more delicate eaters... only 2 pieces of food chewed at a time so they spend more time at the food bowl Smiley

Now you have me curious about the Canidae dry foods... oh well...

I returned the remaining Evo (canned and dry) - neither dog would touch it.  And whereas the first day or two they'd eat a few bites, the last couple days they wouldn't even so much as lick it.

Went to the petstore, explained the problem (still can't find a canned food my puppy will eat) and they actually opened up a can or two of different brands to see if any of them interested her (I had the pup along with me).  After the "taste test" ... Nature's Variety won hands-down.   I fed her this morning her first can of Nature's Variety and she ate 90% of it!  Yippee!!  Even with brands she has liked, she usually only eats about 75%.  Yes, she's very very picky and eats slower than a turtle).

Glad EVO works for some people, but I got suspicious when my eat-everything-in-sight dog even refused the EVO.

So they're on Canidae dry now and the puppy get an additional meal of Nature's Variety canned.

After switching foods since March and driving my 6 Pugs crazy, I decided on Evo dry and wet and they love it!  The kids have more energy, coats look beautiful, and poops are a pleasure (if you can imagine that) to pick up.  I supplement sometimes with home cooked pasta, rice, etc. for some grains.  I'm sticking with Evo....if it gets recalled I am cooking 100%

LdyBeret and ashgate
Thanks for your postings.

I gave my dog EVO RM dry, after reading your 1st post.
It's been 10 days and she still loves it!
Her energy is now 90-95% of normal.

She's hated kibbles for 10 years and EVO is the 1st one
she like better than canned EVO and Solid Gold.

EVO Chicken-Turkey dry & Solid Gold Lamb canned
ties as her 2nd favorite.

Next, I'll see how she likes Cal Nat Lamb canned
and I'll be dropping Kumpi.

I bought some EVO kibble  for my 4 cats---I was really impressed by the ingredients listed--the no grains was the big plus for me. The cats LOVE it. Over the past few weeks I have tried everything--WYSONG, ORIJEN, etc. They would not eat any of it. However, they are scarfing down the EVO like crazy.
