Boy do I wish I could break one of my own rules and let go with some choice words for this whole mess, but I'll let y'all just fill in the blanks! No...please don't post what you think those words might be. I'd have to delete you AND me for it! LOL!

This thing is simply amazing! It just doesn't end...and instead of tapering off, it seems to be picking up speed and snowballing! I was up half the night last night and then woke up for (what I thought) would be a short time this morning. I intended to go back to bed after feeding my crew. HA! More recalls were to be investigated and announced.

I still haven't had that much needed nap but I'm going there soon! Y'all are all so good about reading each others' vents I though I'd borrow your eyeballs for a change!  ;-)

You are doing such a tremendous service for everyone during all this!  Thanks so much!  I hope for all our sakes (and for our pets!) this all gets worked out soon. Hang in there!

Therese, please just try and hang in there.  I'll echo MissLori above and also add my HUGE thanks for all you've done!  Watching this heinous recall unfold is enough to make anyone go off their rock. Knowing we're not alone definitely provides some solace amid the insanity.

Sending along lots of happy tail wags and a labrador style wiggle butt dance as well!

The one positive with the escalation is that it's starting to get some significant media coverage.

Sure is Not picking up any media coverage here in TORONTO. I am speaking to EVERYONE I come across and their response is always the same----------" they have not recalled my food"---or" it is OK , I buy my food from the VET." These people must be brain dead!!

Yes, I agree, however, the impact would be more significant if they would say how many actual deaths there are. This same "confirmed 16" is just not getting anyone's (anyone who has not been here I mean) hair to stand up.

Evidentally a lot of recall news has happened in the few days that I've been gone.  This is a living nightmare that never ends.  But from the start, many of us knew this would happen.

I feel exactly the same way that you do Therese.  And please, feel free to be the one doing the venting, anytime!  You have done so much for us.  You have more right to vent than anyone.  I would like to echo the thanks for all that you've done.  Many of us do not always have that much time to scan the internet for news, so knowing that we can come here to get a quick update is very much appreciated.   Wink

Hi, Everyone. Good to see Therese asking for some of our ears. You need that more than anyone! I tried to log the hours I spent blogging one day. That was enlightening!

Roll Eyes       Not to mention the hours of shopping for supplies to make cat food, researching, and cooking. Amazing! You know what? I don't regret any of it! My life seems different now and I never thought I could appreciate my 3 kitties any more but I do! They are worth every penny, every minute of it. What I am saying is that at first I was angry and resistant to the changes but now I am having fun with it. Will have to thank the blasted recall on that, but it allowed me to better the lives of my pets. And all of you Forum Folks deserve yet another Thank you! for helping me make those changes! There is always something to be thankful for, agree? Plus, I have a new group of friends!

I am so glad we were all adamant in the beginning to avoid "cross contamination". At the time it seemed to some like a far-fetched precaution, but everyone here was right-on-the-money! Now it is becoming a reality!

Kathleen!!!

I'm a little late replying to your post here...but I know EXACTLY what you mean!!!!

Just yesterday, I e-mailed the local TV stations with the info about the Community Forum....and asked them why they haven't announced it.

I gave them the link to the addy for more info on it and told them that it would be a great Public service on their part, to announce it, as the Public needs to be more informed on this...and the DEVELOPING story on this recall, that doesn't seem to be getting any coverage here in Toronto!

Believe me.....I'm so mad about it...I could just scream!!

BTW...are you going to the Forum on the 18th? Some interesting people will be there....Dr. Elizabeth Hodgkins for one!

Best wishes to everyone..and of course their fur-babies!!.... Grin
