Considering the recent canned food recalls, I would stay away from canned products made by this company, as well. I realize that by avoiding both Menu and ANI, that leaves very few alternatives. But, it seems that these guys change the formulas without notifying their brand clients. According to Natural Balance, ANI just added the rice protein without telling them. WTF?!!!

What does that leave now? Merrick, Evangers, and the various Goliaths who make their foods from shit? It's slim pickens out there. There are others, of course. Tiki is made in Thailand, so I am suspect of them. Felidae is made by who? I thought I remember reading it could be Evangers, which makes sense. But, my cats didn't like it. (Neither did I.)

I may switch to baby food temporarily for their wet intake, since they also a eat a balanced, natural dry cat food. (But, that's probably made from horse manure and powdered glass.)

Apparently they did the same thing to Chicken Soup food as well...

The moron at American Nutrition responsible for that decision needs to be escorted to the door.  Were I one of these companies that had this happen, I would not hesitate to drop their services and then sue them for breach of contract.

As I suspected, Blue Buffalo is now recalling their canned products due to American Nutrition's poor practices.. I was fairly sure they used ANI, but not 100% positive. But, now we all know who makes their canned foods.

Therese, perhaps you can add that tidbit of info to their listing on The List.

I've been feeding both Chicken Soup and Blue Buffalo canned to my cats, thinking they were better than the Science Diet and Iams I had been feeding.  This is all so disturbing to me.  I've already had the cats tested once, and can't keep doing this every time there is a recall.  God, I hate this.

This is almost worse than the Menu recalls, as ANI was deliberately deceiving its clients as to the ingredients in the food. It may not be as big a recall. But, it's more serious because of the implications of impropriety.

This would be a great opportunity for one of these holistic brands to open a canning facility, as they are assured of multiple customers for which to manufacture. Since Natura already stated they were going to do this, they should really get off their asses, and get moving on it. All of the brands that were using ANI, and a lot using Menu, would probably love to have a new manufacturer.
