That's nothing. Just wait until they die, and find out they were wrong about a few other things as well.

In my experience, there does seem to be a correlation between Evangelicals & CONTROL freaks. Since I'm on a roll tonight remebering my long ago college courses.......

I had a wonderful Sociology teacher. He made it quite clear (& I very much agree) that most organised religion is about power & control.  It often is also about keeping the peasents in their place (look at the "hip" theory of karma as a great example of a religious dogma that serves the ruling class!).

To me this seems to go hand & hand with our corporate world.

I'm gonna have to disagree about Karma. It serves mankind. Cause and effect is a basic scientific principle of the universe.

My point is that while there are some good parts of karma theory, it also keeps the peasent class in place. I.E.; one was born into the slave class because of evil in a past life & should never strive for upward mobility because that would be against God's will. If one accept's one's lowly place in this life, there will be a reward in the next. Actually very similar to Christianity except for earth vs. heaven.

I should have used the phrase reincarnation rather then karma; but they're both part of the same religious concept.

I like you garypen!  LOL...you speak the truth!
Quite frankly, they don't care about #2. They only use them to get elected, so that they can serve #1.

But Geff. One can change their Karma. A cave can be dark for a thousand years, and all it takes is one candle to make it light again.

Of course, the hereditary Karma of which you speak is just nonsense. But, personal Karma is real.

The only way I can save my own ass with my own big mouth is with good Karma!

Back in Brooklyn, where I'm from, we had an expression, "What comes around, goes around." Even a bunch of Catholic and Jewish tough guys knew about karma.

What many companies do not realize is that if you respect your customers and provide good products at a fair price, revenue and profit will come. And, for those that cut corners, and do not respect their customers, in some cases putting them in jeopardy, financial loss and lower stock prices will surely come. Menu Foods Income Fund's stock price has still not recovered from this debacle. Plus, this whole episode is likely to cost them $30 million or more. (150 Zillion, Canadian.) Unfortunately, most comapnies fall into the latter camp, and view customers as an adversary, a necessary evil to be tricked into buying their products.

But, even if Karma is not real, it certainly doesn't hurt to do good and be good.

Gary, I think we're making 2 different points. I should have used the word reincarnation instead of Karma in my original post. I agree with what you're saying & my original point is equally valid.

Unfortunately when I studied it in college it did appear that the Hindu's theory of reincarnation & reward in your next life was about keeping the worker/slave & "untouchable" classes happy in their low place in society. That way they would not even consider challenging the ruling class.

I want to clarify my earlier posts. I am NOT criticizing anyone's personal beliefs. My criticism is meant for most organized religion & power/control issues in general. I hope my posts on this have not offended anyone.

Just noticing that The Chicken Soup For the Pet Lover's Soul website doesn't have any recalled information anymore, maybe I am missing it but all I see are in the 'vet notes' a link to explain kidney failure...  does anyone else find anything?

I am just getting nervous about the food because my parents feed it to their pups.  (the Dry formula) and I keep asking questions to Diamond about possible cross contamination and they just respond saying that they tested their foods around the same time that the Natural Balance ordeal came up and didn't find any, also they are paying close attention to their customer contacts for any possible symptoms of contamination...  Does anyone else find that scarry?
