It's wonderful to see everyone's pets! Smiley

Here's a picture of my first cat (the Siamese I grew up with) Whiskers:

He lived to be 19.  Went to the Rainbow Bridge just two months short of his 20th birthday.

Whiskers was quite handsome.  And another one that nearly made it to 20.  I think it is really special when you have a pet with you for so long.  Such memories!

Yes, We even start to look like them! It is a terrible loss when a pet holds that last connection to an older chapter in our lives. When we say good-bye to them, it is like the chapter, or even the book, closes.

And, Garypen, you DO put a lot of work into this Forum. No one can take away what Therese does, here. I just meant that you have gone into depth on many subjects with lots of research for all of us and you should get a little credit. Those cute critters of yours must help, some, too!

Yes. The older one writes about 40% of my posts. He uses a special keyboard.

OK, these are my inspirations...the ones who hold the keys to my heart (aka the ones who've got me wrapped around their little paws!)

Tequila came to live with me after a friend plunked her into my arms and said "Here, hold this for a second will ya?" HA! That was 10 years ago...long second huh?

Archie came to us when he was 2 years old after spending the first two years of his life in a cage. He's not your typical border collie as his favorite place to be is in the house with his mama.

Lydia came to live with us after I took a cat that had been hit by a car (and badly hurt) to the animal shelter. (Not my cat - just one that had been hit). I decided to visit the dogs at the shelter and Lydia told me to bring her home, where she now rules the roost!

And dear Abby came to live with me after my Mom passed away in September '05. She's the senior of the group and a very lovely lady.

OK, I think I might have it now...

Ashlar..100 pounds of momma's boy!  Ash loves everyone and everything!

10-year-old Stony...rules his "pack" with an "iron paw"!  Stony loves puppies, and raised Ash carefully!

Ashlar's great-niece, little Rhya..bosses around Ash, and is pretty sure she doesn't have to listen to Stony!  Rhya's meaning of life is AGILITY!

Everybody's pets are so precious-  love all the pics, what a great idea!  Caylynn, your Sphynx is very cool- did you find this breed because of your husband's allergies?  Or was him not being allergic to Sphynx just a bonus?? Grin

Yes, we have a Sphynx because of my husband's allergies.  Since not everyone with allergies can tolerate Sphynx, we visited a couple of breeders in the area (Sphynx and Devon Rex breeders), and spent time with the cats to see if they triggered his allergies.  Fortunately, the Sphynx didn't bother him at all!   So, Dragonheart joined our family last November, and when his breeder has another litter this spring, when the kittens are old enough to leave, we'll have another one joining us. Cheesy

Not everyone with allergies can tolerate Sphynx, but I'm very glad my husband can. Smiley  Dragonheart rubs his head all over hubby's to wake him for his morning breakfast, and has slept on his pillow, his clothes and other belongings, and hubby hasn't been bothered at all! Smiley  On the other hand, just being in the same house as a "regular" cat with fur will trigger his allergies - his nose will run and his eyes will water.

Sphynx are certainly high maintenance (need to be bathed regularly, need to have their ears and eyes cleaned regularly, and need frequent nail trimmings because they have a fast metabolism and so their nails grow faster) but they are well worth it. Smiley  Although I know a lot of people think Sphynx look weird or ugly, anyone who meets Dragonheart in person is quickly charmed by him. Smiley

These are my cats:

Morning toilet queue (white thingie is litterkwitter attachment, Sophie is not fully trained yet):

These two are Stefie (right) and Mitzie (left), brother and sister, who are seven years old.

They were two ugliest and skinniest little kittens I have ever seen. They were rescued from drowning attempt and were so incredibly skinny. Stefie is incredibly sweet cat, and Mitzie is the big boss and also my girl, very possesive and jealous.

This is my recent addition, Sophie. She is eight month now, this pic was taken few months ago.

I was hoping to expand my cat family further with another rescue if test case (little ragdoll) was accepted OK, but although things are fine now I don't think Mitzie would tolerate another cat so I'll have to stop at three.
