After all the pet food bad news I thought that I would post something from a good news slant.  I have 4 indoor cats and I have recently had a cat enclosure built out on my back deck which is incredible! The cats access the steel mesh enclosure through 2 cat doors in my back windows. They exit out into the enclosure which has shelves, hammocks and tunnels that run through the cedar trees. They go out there whenever they wish--free to enjoy the outside but safe. The company that constructed the enclosure is called;

You can view different enclosures that Kris has built all over southern Ontario,  Well worth a look!.I know that you can order the kits and construct it yourself.

Kathleen, WOW!    Shocked   Your cats are lucky cats! I wish I could try that on my deck! Tell us how they enjoy it! I want to be a cat that lives at your house; purrrfectly pampered! Have you had any problems with it so far?

Hi Mary,
        The cats love it!!. I put bird feeders out in the backyard so they spend a lot of time watching them. I also have a tunnel that they can access up stairs inside the enclosure  and runs along under the eves trough. They really like that and spend a lot of time hanging out up there.. The cat flap is located in the screen so I lift up the window to let them use the cat door flap. On nice days I leave the window open day and night. Sometimes they spend most of the night out there. Even if I leave the window open and I leave the house, I never worry about a break- in because the enclosure  is a heavy duty steel mesh---no way could anyone get into the house.  I was concerned about fleas from the squirrels-- but the vet assured me that was unlikely as the squirrel carries a different  kind of flea. There is only one problem. I now spend a lot of time out on the deck watching the cats enjoy themselves. It warms my heart--but not much house work is getting done.
 However,  no one ever lay on their death bed wishing they did more housework!

That would be so awesome, but one of our cats has some health issues and isn't supposed to go outside.

There's a couple who lives close to my parents. They have around 20 cats, and have an enlosure that leads from their house to a three story wire mesh 'building' that sort of resembles a church. The enclosure has many levels including a top steeple level, with paths that lead to each. It's pretty amazing, and taller than their house.

  These are SO neat!  My Tugger would have loved something like this...If I have another cat someday, I will definitely want to build one of these enclosures!
