My 3 cats are finishing off a bag of the NV Prairie Salmon Meal and Brown Rice with an exp. date of 9/07.
I will not be buying this food for them anymore however, since the company doesn't make it themselves even though my cats love it.
I actually want them to eat more wet food than dry, and am trying to get them to do that also.

I've used this in the past, but will not be using it anymore for the same reason as Cindy. Their feeze dried is made in their facility, I have a few bags of that though I think some other brands might be better option for cats (less fruit and veggies).

Along with Fromms, my cats ate the NV Raw Instinct.  I found that it 'broke up' easily.  They are super, super picky and loved this. I recently tried them on Orijen (sp..made in Canada) and they love it more than any other brand.

When I got the Canidae for my boy, I got some samples of Natures'Variety Prairie kibble for dogs. The ingredients look great. And no menadione. However, following this thread, I called them to find out where it was manufactured. They said it was outsourced to Texas, but would not give me the city in Texas or the name of the manufacturer. But they assured me it had no connections whatsoever with any recalled products.  If it's Pied Piper, I'm ok with it. But if it's Merrick, I have reservations. Not that I'm going to switch just yet, but when we finish the bag of Timberwolf (so expensive) and Canidae (Hannah hates it), I may buy a small bag, if I get the answer I'm looking for. (Not feeding the samples because there is no way to determine an expiration date. Rep said "just smell it". Sorry, but I need a date in writing.  Wink Anyway, if anyone knows who manufactures the Nature's Variety Prairie dog kibble, I would appreciate the feedback.

A list of "who makes what" is at: www.thepetfoodlist.com/manufacturers.htm .  It looks like "M.I. Industries" makes Nature's Variety pet foods, but don't know if that is true for all NV versions or just a few.
