We started feeding Kumpi to our two mutts shortly after our adopting them from a local shelter. The decision to do so came after some research done into pet food, the good and not so good ingredients, the marketing tactics...etc. My dogs seem to like this food, and they are quite healthy according to the vet we use. It has been over a year since putting them on the food, so the "test of time" is still a long way off, but barring any kind of health setback, we will happily continue feeding this brand. I feel awful for the many pet owners who have gone through losses or sickness of their animals due to this recent poisoning of commercial foods, but this brand is so far from those others, and is run by someone who genuinely wants to run a pet food company with integrity where the pets come first. To any prospective customers of this brand, one great thing is you can contact the owner by email, or probably by telephone, and ask her any kind of questions you may have. The website is quite informative also. I have communicated with her on occasion and always recieve a prompt reply. Try some crap like that with ALPO or IAMS. Yeah right. Anyway, if you are still reading this and looking for a new pet food, then call this woman and learn more about what she offers, then compare it to what you can buy at the local pet store. I wont eat fast food everyday because eventually it will kill me. I also wont feed my two dogs the equivalent of fast food in dog form because, eventually, it will kill them the same way. The food should not hurt the dogs.

Excellent post and analogies about fast food.

You are so right about being able to talk to Evy - I've never been able to talk to the president of Purina or Iams/P&G. Evy really understands customer relationships (not just human - but our companions as well).

Kumpi is the best! So I rent a few less DVD's...big deal - my babes eat right!

Smiley I have been feeding Kumpi for almost a year now. The dogs are happy, healthy and I feel it is a good, safe food. Delivery is great as I have it shipped to the east coast from Colorado. All inquiries are answered in short order. I  often use a small amount of Honest Kitchen Force or Embark as a topper and lately mix a handful of Orijen Six Fish to every three of Kumpi to give some variety. I do not believe in the "one perfect food" for life so also add some veggies, stewed chicken or salmon from time to time but Kumpi is the main food. The kibble is also the perfect size for small dogs. Smiley

Actually, one-year prior to the recall. The dogs were still in their first year then.

Still feeding this brand. No negative issues. The dogs are now going on 8 years old, and are models of canine health.
