I guess it really depends on what additives and chemicals are put into the fish food. That's one of the problems with farmed fish!

I doubt there's a pet food out there that uses only wild-caught fish.

Well my kitties love the Gravy..but wont eat the fish...but thats okay with me, since im worried that maybe the fish ate soy protein and since its the whole fish in the can..who knows. And by the way, I HAD NO IDEA, the it was actually going to be a whole fish in the can!! Kinda freaked me out! haha Smiley

The fish are small...barely bigger than sardines.

BTW, they fit 3 in the cat cans, and many, many more in the dog cans.

Cheesy Thanks for making me laugh.

Lacy, this may be a stupid question but do you mash up the fish really good? My kitties won't eat chunks but I smash it to bits and they clean their bowls.  Smiley

I have to say I continue to be impressed with Evangers. I also feed the organic turkey and chicken cans. I feel really comfortable feeding them organic. It's the only brand I've found that has all organic ingredients... even down to the guar gum! I have a Newman's Own can and noticed it only has organic chicken. The rest is not organic. Kind of misleading. But that's why I now feed Evangers.  Smiley

Hahaha! Holy Mackerel! Thanks garypen!
Reddancer, I didnt mash up the fish...yet. Im sure I will. Last night I was still in shock from opening the can!! Hahah. I know..Im pathetic. I'll bring myself to mash it up in time. I couldnt even open the other can..I made my husband do it. Smiley We had an ongoing conversation about how much money it would take for us to eat that fish. His was $10,000...Mine was $10 million...
So I am just hoping that there arent any chemicals on the fish and that the fish didnt eat soy protein.
I ordered the organic turkey and butternut squash last night too.

I was SO impressed yesterday at our small-town grocer's when out of curiosity I strolled thru their pet food section and actually saw a new section of food between the Friskies and Fancy Feast-- Evanger's.  I've never tried it but thought how convenient it would be to have something safe actually in town, so I bought both the Mackeral and the something with Cavier.  When I opened that can of mackeral and saw those black fishy things floating, I thought "there goes another can in the disposal." But I put it in a bowl and broke it up into small bite-size pieces and, I must say, I had to back off in a hurry because I've never seen Cupid act so much like a "real cat!" Talk about tearing into it...  But seriously--I had to rinse out that empty can before even throwing it in the garbage, it was so strong. It nostalgically brought back olfactory memories of watching my grandad skin and fillet his daily catch.  Smiley  Does anyone have experience with what I'm going to find in the cavier variety? I'd like to be a little better prepared this next time.  Grin

You people! This is stuff cats like!  Grin

OK, OK...the caviar is just like any other pate' type of cat food...you won't have to put on your extreme hazard suit to open it.

I haven't tried the caviar. I've heard they put fish eggs in it.
