Good Morning to all!!!......

Just wanted to drop a little info about an up-coming show on CNN. It will be airing on the May 19th & 20th.

Every weekend, CNN has their "Special Investigations Unit" (SIU) which usually runs a couple of hours. On the weekend noted above, the SIU show will be hosted by Dr. Sanjay Gupta covering "the poisons in our foods".

I know I have it written on my calender (although, if you watch CNN, there'll be many reminders!)....and look forward to watching this investigative program in particular!

I think this is the same guy who was on Real Time with Bill Maher on Friday. He's one of 2 docs (that I've heard of so far) who don't agree with this 'melamine won't hurt humans' crap.

I waited and waited...but nothing came up! Maybe tomorrow will be better....I'm not exactly a computer whiz...so...I don't know what's up with it being so slow and all!!

I have chronic renal failure and have been on the kidney transplant list for years.  I have been stable so I see my nephrologist once every 3 or 4 months.  Today I had one of those routine appointments.  My nephrologist told me that they are already talking about conducting toxicity tests on melamine.  My social worker also told me he was hesitant to go home to eat his chicken dinner.  My dialysis nurse has a stockpile of food to feed her cats but knows it will shortly run out.  For the thousands and thousands of Americans in chronic renal failure, a small exposure to melamine could prove fatal.  Watching my diet has always been a priority.  Now it seems a matter of life or death.  Perhaps it would be prudent to chat with local kidneyassociations?

I'm so sorry to hear about your CRF.....and you make such an important point! One of the things that made my blood boil (and still does every time I hear them say this!).....is their on-going declarations that the human food is safe.....that there is no need to recall!!!

I have always thought...."how the hell can they say that?"....and what came to mind was people such as yourself and your condition....or elderly or small children etc.....how can they possibly give this food, which we pay for, which I don't care how much they say that the poison is "diluted"....an A-OK? It's just ludicrous!!!!

Your nephrologist sounds very wise....I hope every thing turns out ok for you.

I'm very concerned about what I too put on the table for my family.....it's just a huge horror story!! I'm at a loss for words sometimes (which used to be rare!)....
All I know is this.....it's criminal! That sums it up for me.....and they have to be held (everyone involved in this tragedy) accountable.....

I wish you the best.....hope to hear from you more often as your story shines a whole different light on this thing!...take care!...

Yes...I've been saying for awhile now that this "everything is safe crap" by the FDA is going to bite them because they are not taking into consideration people like yourself who are already compromised.

I know they'll find other ways to get it into the The USA (& Canada & Europe) but we MUST ban all Chinese (& Possibly all Asian) food imports) ( & Pull ALL that are already here off the market) until these governments at least start pretending that they've doing some regulating.

Boycott!..Boycott!!!..Boycott!!!

I've mentioned it earlier elsewheres........but, there should also be a Boycott against the Olympics being held in China too!!! If it's not even safe for their own citizens to eat the food there let alone breathe their putrid air....how in the hell do they get the "privilege" of hosting the Olympics in Beijing? There's so many other countries that have readible facilities from being past hosts of the Olympics!

I'd participate in that protest!....I'm between jobs, so I have LOTS of time to spare!!! Bet that would get A LOT of attention! We could arrange Marches ALL over.......including here in Canada!!!!!...

Deanna ,  I agree. As you state, if they can't feed their own citizens safe food because of corruption, where do they think they deserve ti host a world event? (The sad thing is that (while I'm not a communist) it is Capitalistic principles that have caused this mindset where profit comes before safety.

I just went over to see what was going on over at the Itchmo Forum......and lo and behold....the troll was there!

So...being the big mouth that I am (or can be.... ..)..I, well, I had to respond! Just had to put in my 2 cents...so to speak!

It was the first time I ever posted there....(at least I think it was the first time)...

Maybe the W.H.O.....should be brought into considerations regarding the boycotting of the Olympics....after-all..it should be viewed upon as a HEALTH issue to foreigners!.....I know, sometimes I reach a bit high...but for God's sakes...that Government has to be held accountable to SOMEBODY!!!!..... .....

Don't they?.....I really don't know enough about politics.....but somebody has to have SOME leverage over the crimes of humanity that exist there! Like say, someone who isn't in debt to them for instance?...
