Cindy, Mary, et al......you DID clarify I hadn't upset you.  Thank you - I'm fine, so no worries!

Currently, I'm focusing on getting the word spread that our time is running out for the post card blitz.  Along those lines, I'll add my post here so it doesn't get missed:

Our TWO days are a’comin’ fast folks!

PLEASE - if you haven’t done so already, spread the word about the post card blitz link here and the Itchmo forum link to any pet parent friends, pet email lists, your vet, other well read pet food recall blogs - anyone you can think of. This campaign will only work if the PTB receive post cards en masse. The same will apply once Stage 2: the stuffed animals campaign, gets implemented.

It only takes a few minutes to cc friends and pet email lists with these links. Help spread the word so our pet’s voices can be heard AND to ensure not ONE pet’s death or illness has been in vain.

Thanks again to everyone who has helped thus far.
All of you ROCK!

Quote from: willyagogo
we're all here for the same thing, and that is to save our loved ones(our fur-babies)....and no matter how or what way we figure out how to do it......we're doing it!!!!

I have to say I've felt SO relieved the past few days since I've found a food that I THINK is safe & that kitty is very happy with. I was right on the edge of totally losing it for several weeks. My empathy goes out to everyone who did lose a loved one. I'm afraid if mine had died unnecessarily due to corporate profiteering that whatever my actions would have been they wouldn't have been pretty.

I read that yesterday in our local paper. It seems that the Washington Post has become the second Newspaper (along with the Pittsburgh Tribune) that's following this.

Everyone; I just wanted to let you all know that they've just had a rather comprehensive story on our local (channel 5) 10 PM news RE; Chenoga Valley recall, and also mentioned the link to hogs, with an advertised link to their website for anyone wanting to see the complete recall list.

This is the first time that I am aware that this has happened on local TV around here (Mesa, AZ).

It's a start anyway.

Speaking of Chenoga Valley manufacturing, we haven't heard from the Back to Basics guy in a while. Isn't his food made there?

I have a "My Yahoo" set up for the top 5 headlines from several providers. Today is the first time ever that our issue was mentioned. That's the good news. The bad news is that the FDA is doing more rear covering. I really believe Rove has taken over spin control (a very bad thing because he's so good at it); recent articles have his Orwellian style of minimization & denial all over them. Not in the writing style, but in the FDA quotes.

That's just standard GOP MO, SOP, and BAU. It's to be expected. No BFD.

In fact, that's the kind of thing that usually gets the press MORE interested.

Has anyone seen this story? Unknown number? This was posted like an hour ago.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18405363/

More than 100 brands of pet food have been recalled since March 16 because they were contaminated with melamine. An unknown number of dogs and cats have been sickened or died after eating chemical-laced pet food.

At least it's starting to get out (over a month after the fact) even if some of the info is more tainted then the food!! (sorry I had to add a LITTLE humor.......)

This is so scarry!!!  I have a question, and I don't mean to undermine the importance of knowing that the substance was being added in the human food supply, but if the melamine doesn't "harm" humans, or so they say, does the chicken (human grade chicken you buy at the grocery store) affect our pets in the same manner as the pet food?  The reason I ask is that since this whole thing started I have been home cooking for my dogs and I have used chicken breast to make their food.  I even used an egg once or twice.
Also, is turkey affected as well?
