I mentioned this in another topic.....but thought I'd start one that deals with it specifically.

Now, it's just an observation, but have not seen any TV commercials about pet foods since the recall came about with the exception of Cesar(wet dog food) and I haven't even seen that one for awhile!

What happened to all those Beneful commercials where the dog in it "is so happy!"....I'd love to hear anyone else's thoughts on this. I'm sure there's a lot of "sponsorship" issues going on here....but why Beneful? As it is not YET on the recall list.....Hmmmm!!!.... Huh

I saw an Iams commercial last night during "Lost".  It's the first I remember seeing in a while.

The Beneful commercial is playing in the Los Angeles media market pretty frequently, but I've seen no other pet food commercials over the past few weeks.

I thank you all for responding to this topic as it's something that I was really wondering about!

I live in Toronto and it was an observation that I had made here and on the different USA networks that I get. I know that Beneful is one commercial that I used to see quite a bit...and as I said before, I haven't seen it since the recalls started even thought they aren't, as of yet, on the recall list!

I wonder if it's worthwhile (if anyone has any inside contacts....I don't), checking into the different Networks and their departments that deal with commercials and such.....to find out any little bits and pieces about this subject! If some networks are distancing themselves away from these corporations...it would be interesting to know why......if that's possible!

Just some food for thought!......Take care everyone!!!..... Smiley

Beneful had been running several times a day on the USA north-east.

Yesterday was the 1st day I haven't seen any ad.

That poor dog is barfing blood in a corner somewhere. As soon as his boss is done counting money, they will euthanize it and send it to the renderers'.

Actually, I saw commercials last night for both Beneful AND Iams. I grumbled a bit when I saw the Beneful one, but when the Iams one came on I actually jumped out of my seat and yelled at the TV. I haven't done that in awhile. It was too much...I couldn't take it.

Good Morning Everyone!!!

Tommy Boy:....I know EXACTLY the Beneful ad that you're talking about! Ibet there's a lot of pets and pet parents out there that "AREN'T ...so happy" these days!

Cindy:....some people (networks that air these poisonous products!!)....just have NO SHAME!!!!....I guess they're more concerned with the financial gains from the sponsorship! Bloody Morons!.........Money is TRULY the root of all EVIL here isn't it?

Maybe it's because I'm in Canada or something, I don't know....(btw, I'm not implying that there's no evil up here....there's lots to go around!)....but I'm still not seeing any pet food ads.

HOWEVER....for the first time....in a long time.....I did see a pet PRODUCT advertised lastnight! It was for Pedigree....and it was for the X-shaped Denta-bones.....which I USED to give my doggies ALL the time.......has anyone heard ANYTHING about that product and it's safety?....Not that I would give them to my dogs again.....just wondering!

Let's not forget that Menu Foods Income Fund is a Canadian company.

Oh garypen....don't I know it?Huh.... Cry Cry Cry

I can't tell you how many times I found myself crying....and then screaming...when I remember that very point!!!

What makes me even more livid....is the fact that, no matter how many letters and e-mails I have sent to the CBC and CityTV here in Toronto....we hardly here a peep any more out of them regarding the developing story......and to me, so far, Menu Foods has been the largest offender of them all!!!

You would think that these Networks would feel, at least, some kind of moral obligation....to report what the hell is going on regarding this on-going tragedy....that started with....Menu Foods.....here in Canada!

I just hope that people out-side of Canada...do not think that the public is as lax as our Officials, Networks etc....portray themselves to be!!

Our pets are dying too!!!....And we're damn mad about it...damn mad!!

Um...time for me to take the dogs out...and cool off!!!..Grrrrr!!!!! Angry
