Pet Food Products Safety Alliance (pfpsa) has new test info back from the lab.

Keep in mind, this is raw data.  PFPSA will provide a summary, time permitting.

Since there has been no summary posted as of yet regarding the test results, has anyone done any research on their own pertaining to the levels of various items contained in these foods??

Auntie Crazie put the test results into tables, and Don posted the info at Pet Food Products Safety Alliance.

See links shown in September 2, news update.

September 10, 2009: Tests are back on six samples of Newman's Own Organic. The lab detected large, rod shaped, gram positive bacteria. Unfortunately, attempts to culture the bacteria were unsuccessful and follow up efforts to identify the bacteria through DNA sequencing were also unsuccessful. The lab's comments in the report are worth reading.

ETA: sorry Bonkers.  I didn't realize there was a separate thread.

For those who look at the test results, this was food that I tested.  The reference Don made to the kitty that died was my Rufus.  Rufus did not die from this food.  He died from infectious anemia.

Still, based on the test results and the poor experiences I had with this food, I personally would never feed it again.

No problem Peg. I am going to leave the posts as they are.

That is very unusual that they were unable to identify the type of bacteria.

Has it been considered to have the food tested by another lab or university to       see if someone else would be able to identify it?

Wasn't sure where to post this, but PFPSA has some new test results on Nutro
Chicken Meal and Rice cat food.

See May 4, 2010 test results which indicate high levels of Vit D.
