  This was also discussed a bit on another thread.

   http://thepetfoodlist.com/forums/index.php?topic=983.msg7668#msg7668

   As mentioned in Susan's recent article, K & W was the distributor of the Chicken Soup canned food in question. I found that K & W distributes Diamond products in these 6 states; Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. So more products with these lots numbers may be spread around quite a bit.

   Bob and Kathie Brehon own Brehon’s Pet Supply Warehouse in Behel Park, PA, the shop reporting ‘issues’ with Chicken Soup dog food.  The following is the most recent information from Bob Brehon:

•    “After receiving several complaints about skin rashes and diarrhea after feeding Chicken Soup Adult Canned food, I called my distributor to find out how to handle the returns. They are K&W Distributing out of Ohio. Bill the sales manager told me he would contact the Diamond Rep whose name is Nick and get back to me. Shortly after that I received a call from Diamond's Vet Tech Services and asked to provide them the lot numbers and stuff from the cans and Cases. There seemed to be some confusion about those numbers as they kept asking for me to repeat them several times and then asked if I was sure that they were correct.”

Not sure if this has been posted before but TOTW dry dog food (one batch) has been pulled from shelves due to high protein & low moisture.  From what I've read around the internet, no dogs have gotten sick but some have refused to eat it.  It's the Pacific Stream & the only date impacted is July 1, 2010.......assume that's the BB date.

There is nothing on their website about this.......at least I wasn't able to find it.

  I contacted my local indie pet store today to see if they had heard anything about this food being pulled. The manager stated that she had not, but she has not been able to get in any of the TOTW Pacific Stream. She sated that the store has been out of stock for a couple of weeks.

A lot of pet forums are talking about it.  Here's dogster:

http://www.dogster.com/forums/Food_and_Nutrition/thread/633854

If I can remember some of the other forums I was reading, I'll post those links too but it's being talked about on a lot of forums but can't find anything that went public about it.  So if you didn't read it on the internet, you wouldn't know.

Diamond is having a bit of a problem.........

 Maybe Diamond, along with a few other companies, should invest in this;

"Thermo Scientific has developed algorithms for the Spectra-Quad to detect not only melamine present in petfood but protein independently as well."
