Tonight and for all of today, Rufus has been doing very poorly.

He is not eating, not drinking, not grooming and not using the box.

If he is still with me in the morning, then I will probably send him to the Bridge.

Today is Rufus' best buddy's birthday.
Gizmo and Rufus are/were the very best buddies.

Gizmo has been at the Bridge since January 23, 2007.

I have been so very blessed to have Rufus, even though it was for a short while; only 6 years.  I know he loves me as I love him with all my heart.  I only hope he can forgive me for not being able to help him this last time.

I do know that for the 6 years that I have him, all the purrs and head butts and kitty kisses I got from him, tell me that he was very glad he came home with us.

I'm so, so sorry to hear about Rufus. I know, as do we all, how difficult it is to be where you are. I wish there were words to take some of the heartache away.

My little boy had a very restless night last night.

I got him settled in my lap at a little before 5 and he began to purr.

Frosty was washing his face and mine.

We sat on the floor and were perfectly positioned for the sunise and awaited the first sunbeam of the morning.

Rufus gave a big sigh and at 7:01 am EDT on 7/1/09, he left me to go be with Gizmo at the Bridge.

This is a small forum with the most wonderful people.
Rufus and I are so very grateful for all your prayers and all of your support.
It means the world to both of us.
Bless you all.

Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry

Hugs & kisses.......I am soooooooo sorry & so sad for you.

There's something missing in my home
I feel it day and night
I know it will take time and strength
before things feel quite right

But just for now I need to mourn
my heart - it needs to mend
though some may say 'it's just a pet'
I know I've lost a friend

You've brought such laughter to my home
and richness to my days
a constant friend through joy or loss
with gentle loving ways

Companion, pal and confidant
A friend I won't forget
You'll live for always in my heart
my sweet forever pet

Peg,

That's so sad.  No one could have done more for Rufus than you did.

Will miss the big guy, here.

Oh Peg, I'm so sorry that your little boy had to leave your side. I truly understand the deep pain you must be feeling right now. Take comfort in knowing that you will see him and Gizmo again.

Typing through tears,
Frosty

Oh Peg. I am so sorry to hear this. Find comfort in your happy times. He had a wonderful life with the best Mom.
