Davis Hmm, Its hard to know what to believe. I got a phone call(voicemail) and an email from the vice president saying that the canned by nature organics were made at Evangers. Here is the email.
"Hi Lacy,
We have our organic canned formulas made for us by Evangers, a small, family-owned cannery located in Illinois.
If you have any questions or need more information, please let me know.
Tedd Ellis, Vice President Consumer Brands Division Blue Seal"
So maybe just the pouches are made in China? What do ya think?

I am using a few flavors of the Evangers as most of you know! But I also found out that Evangers makes By Nature Organics. I bought a can of Chicken and Mackerel. The only ingredients were something like Organic Chicken, Chicken Liver, Natural Well Water, Mackerel, and vitamins and minerals. ( thats not exactly right, but as close as I can remember) My cats really liked it. So now I have something along with the Evangers. Has anyone tried By Nature? What do you guys think?

I actually just bought one can of By Nature. It only has basically meat and well water and vitamins. I cant get a hold of them to confirm it is made by Evangers. Untill then, I wont use it, The weird thing was though, I found it as KROGER! I never ever buy cat food from grocery stores so I found it a little odd that they carried it. I was just strolling down the isle to see what was on the shelves. Not sure what I think about that.
I am also feeding the Evangers Turkey and Squash. There is always leftover!! I refrigerate the leftovers but they HATE that. It has to be right out of the can. I had read the quality consistancy concerns, but honestly they didnt really bother me right now. Might just be the way they are shipped, or who knows. Better than Poison. (one thing they DONT waste is the whole mackerel!! Geez they would eat that all day if they could)

Dry and Wet Foods / California Natural / Re: Fat Kitties?

I have no idea how to get a cat to gain weight! I have the opposite problem! Haha. My kitties just love food and beg for it ALL day. I feel like I do a good job not overfeeding. I might look into the Innova Senior to help Wendy lose weight. Thanks Garypen. Not sure how crazy she would go without the California Natural though! We'll see. I really just wish she would eat something besides dry food. My two other cats lOVE wet food. I try once or twice a day with Wendy. I even add treats and baby food. Believe it or not, she doesnt even like treats!! I bought Halo's freeze dried lamb treats and the other kitties couldnt resist, but Wendy...no way. Shes my little oddball.

One thing I think I would like to see is a warning on Naturas page and on the EVO bag. Just so people can be careful when feeding the EVO. Some people may not know if their cats have a pre-existing condition. A lot of people are just going out and buying it, without researching, because they believe its healthier for their cat, and in some situations it may not be.

I really dont mean to upset or scare you, but I had read a review that really bothered me recently. It was on rateitall.com A girl claims that the Innova reduced fat killed her cat. I pray that is not true. Also a lot of people on there claim that EVO did also. Very scary. I hate reading stuff like that. What do you guys think?

Also it probably wasnt the same lady you talked to. The lady I talked to was not very nice to me at all ( and I was being very nice), and really couldnt answer my questions with certainty. Anyways, can you also let u know about the ph, carbs, and phos? Thanks Babs!

Babs I was upset when she told me that. I really wish they were testing, even if there is no reason to believe there is melamine in their foods. It would really give us more confidence in feeding our babies. Im not sure if I feel better feeding this, with no testing, and assuming everything is ok, or something from Menu that has been tested. Its all just a risky game and its so incredibly stressful.
Let us know what they say when you call. Maybe they have changed their minds.

She just eats dry. She wont touch anything canned or moist. I try everyday! Just the boys love the wet. I free feed them, but I dont feel like I overdo it. I guess it could be that she was on Nutro Weight management before this. Or that she really likes this food. Thats good that the calories arent high. I wasnt sure. Its just crazy how many pounds she has gained. How much do you feed?
