Does anyone use this food for cats?

Well guys, I just found out that they had a recall back in 2003. It wasnt Merrick, but a pet food they made for Go Natural. It caused Liver Failure and deaths in Animals. There was no known cause. So Go Natural pulled their food from Merrick and are having it made somewhere else. That made me REALLY sad. I really like this food. I think I would feel better if they would have found a cause for the organ failure, so they could fix it. I really want to keep using this food and the cats like it. What do you guys think??

Let me know if you hear ANYTHING bad about this company. I just started using the cans today and all three cats love it. I called them today are they were very nice. They said all of their ingredients are USDA sourced. She couldnt pinpoint where all of it comes from, but did say they made sure their suppliers didnt outsource to china. So thats good.     Thanks goodness for this website and all the other ones out there. I wouldn't know what to feed if it wasnt for them!!

Garypen, so your cats eat less of it too? I could tell they liked it becuase when i put it down all three went right for it. I just dont understand why they dont eat as much of it as all the different foods we have tried. I guess it has a little more protein in it, maybe thats the reason?

Catmom5, I noticed on the website that the Chicken dry was a lot less than the herring dry.  Did you specify which flavor of the food?  I hope that might be the problem. Also for everyone else, I called Natura to make sure that none of the ingredients in California natural were outsourced to China in any way and was assured that they are all from the U.S. I am really really wanting to believe this because this is the only food i trust right now. Its hard because I was lied to over and over again by Natural balance and now im waiting blood results for my three cats. I just pray California Natural is the right food for us!!
