Snarlah, That's is a very real concern. My last adopted kitty spent the first 7 years of her life on a horse rescue ranch, where they lived on what they could catch and what was donated monthly by Target "leftovers" and volunteers (who weren't all that swift in the cat caring dept). Now I spend quite a bit of time worrying about her kidneys in light of the recalls. Per a post here the other day I bought The Pet Check-up home testing kit, from www.thepetcheckup.com so I could test her and my other "old ones." It just arrived so I haven't had a chance to do it as it takes some preparation. But once I do it will give me a little peace of mind.

The problem with that though Davis is that many believe themselves to be "wise and caring" both pet and child parents, but they don't know their butt from a cantalope regarding good nutrition for either species. So they go along thinking they are doing the right thing.
Part of the problem with people is that they think if someone "is in the business" they MUST know what their talking about, i.e.; Doctors, vets, people who make pet food...hell even pet sitters! And they figure those "in the know" are going to tell them straight, or sell them safe and healthy products for both their kids and their pets. I have to deal with my own clients who fall into this category every day. No matter what they are told, or what "proof" is offered, the "higher" authority always takes priority...and those are the ones believed. That's why this tragedy is so insidious.

That sounds like avery good idea. And I agree.
In June, they are having a special, buy 3 cases of meat chunk products, you get a case of duck and sweet potato free...only good if you have a dog to eat the D & S.
Also in July they are having a special, buy 5 cases of 100% organic chicken 13.2 oz, 100% chicken 6 oz, or cooked chicken 13.2 oz, and get 1 case cooked chicken 22 oz free.
I'll be taking advantage of these.

Well, the beautiful thing about using pumpkin is that it doesn't act like a laxative per se. It acts like when you don't eat enough fiber for awhile...and then you do. But since their digestive system is shorter, it'll go through a little quicker than it would us. So if you fed him a few hours ago, and then again in the morning, he should have a BM at the normal time. Don't stress about it though...it WILL come out.

Davis,
Well, we started at this client's today, and she didn't buy chicken this time, she bought Starkist, and Bumblebee Chunk light tuna in the 3.0 oz cans.
Both brands' ingredients are identical; light tuna, water, vegetable broth, and salt.
I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful on this. She had chicken when we cared for her kitty last year.

Babs; Re; Adobe, do you HAVE to have the updated version? In other words, ignore the offer...I do. Unless it says when I try to DL...'you can't do it...bla, bla, bla.' Also, you might be out of storage space............?
Re; Half eaten food. Half is better than none.
Also, how much are you trying to feed at each meal? Example; I have 3 adult cats, and I divide 3-ways a 5.5oz can at each meal. If one of the cats I know tends to eat a little less of that flavor, I give her a bit less. Conversely, if one of them eats more....you get the idea. Also, some days (it's very rare now though, I admit) one cat will just not eat that much.
Try giving half of what you normally do, and store the rest...until they get used to the food. If they don't like the stored stuff cold...you can warm it slightly.
Just some suggestions.
