Um maybe it is still happening - in the US maybe?  Maybe a look at the consumer affairs web site would be of interest, TCM.

ETA This post is not about Champion or Orijen in the USA, rather I was referring to another company.

Hi all.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time cats in Australia have been affected in this way by consuming irradiated petfood. It has happened before in 2007 (the manufacturer covered it up and threatened litigation against anyone who spoke out) and it will happen again if we do not do anything about it.

This is the first time I'm reading that irradiation practices in AU caused cats to suffer in 2007 also. Are you at liberty to disclose what company covered this up and post proof that cats became sick. Sending a pm is fine.

Thanks,
Frosty

GG, Praying for the best for Misty. Glad that the surgery itself went well and that she is healing well from that.

Thanks Frosty.
Sadly, it looks like all the Itchmo info is gone.

I am more than willing to go through the whole story if anyone wants.
This was July 2007 to January 22, 2008.

When you do the 'google' thing - are you clicking on the 'cached' link? That is where I've been getting the pages.
24  Dry and Wet Foods / Orijen / Re: Cat deaths linked to Orijen on: February 17, 2009, 12:59:02 AM
No, the itchmo links that I just posted will not work unless itchmo comes back online.

Sorry the 'archive' link does not work, but maybe this will.

When you go to this link
http://www.archive.org/index.php

paste this in the little 'box' and hit search
www.itchmoforums.com

It will take you to a page that lists a few pages. Follow a link and then there should be a link that says,
"Search for all pages on the site itchmoforums.com/"

Click on the itchmo link and a bunch more pages will come up.

Here's the search link - I checked out a few pages and the cached pages work for me.

You might want to 'google' this  "itchmoforums.com" and use the cache link. You could also try other search engines for results.

Here is a link that will take you to 'the way back machine' - they archive many pages:
http://www.archive.org/index.php

paste this in the little 'box' and hit search
www.itchmoforums.com

It will take you to a page that lists a few pages. Follow a link and then there should be a link that says,
"Search for all pages on the site itchmoforums.com/"

Click on the itchmo link and a bunch more pages will come up.

Now is the time I wish we could access itchmo forums - there is just so much information written there that may be able to help. There are many threads about beloved Gizmo there.
29  Dry and Wet Foods / Orijen / Re: Cat deaths linked to Orijen on: February 15, 2009, 10:03:27 PM
Good write up, TC. I will be printing it out and passing it on to those who need to know in my corner of the world. That includes places where Orijen is sold. Pet stores need to know how the companies that they buy food from treat their customers when something goes wrong.

I have to ask:
Why not just change servers?
Why do they stick with such an unreliable server?

I sure hope that Ben has made a recent back-up of the entire forum site.
