407  Dry and Wet Foods / Hill's / Re: NEED DIET FOOD FOR CATS on: October 10, 2008, 09:28:51 PM
I agree. Grain free is the way to go. It does have more calories so you have make sure not to over feed.

Getting an obese cat to lose weight needs to be done gradually… no crash diets allowed!  Cats have a unique metabolic response to fasting and whenever a feline’s food intake is rapidly and markedly depressed, a serious and potentially fatal disorder can occur called Hepatic Lipidosis.

I have a dog. She was overweight and I tried everything. For her and a friends cat the raw food diet made the biggest change in weight.
408  Pet Products and Resources (NOT foods) / Vitamins and other supplements / Bio Joint on: October 10, 2008, 09:15:16 PM
This is the other supplement Misty gets. It actually does help her arthritis. No more Deramaxx, which I hated to give her.  On rough days like a long day swimming or running I give her tramadol. Much safer than n-saids. Good alternative for kitties.

I started Misty on this about a month ago. I don't think I'm supposed to see huge differences since she is right now healthy. I'm hoping to balance her thyroid and adrenal gland. She is on natural thyroid right now and after another month I'm taking her off the thyroid and check to see if worked. Its looks like an awesome product to help keep the fur kids healthy as can be. I think i will try the human kind. I'll keep you all posted.

415  Other Pet Topics / Miscellaneous Pet Topics / Re: Itchmo Is Starting To Censor their Forums on: October 09, 2008, 04:13:59 PM
I just seen this and can't believe the timing. itchmo has gotten way worse at the censoring thing. They have banned several longtime members and newbies for no reason and no warning at all. I couldn't believe it. I had been a member for over a year with no problems at all. They started a new moderator group and "new" rules that pretty much say you can't post anything that might upset anyone else. Come on, everyone can't agree all the time. The admin refuses to take responsibility for the moderators actions so here I am. I no longer have anything to do with itchmo.

Of course this is just my opinion only......

417  Raw Foods / Nature's Variety / Re: Nature's Variety on: October 09, 2008, 12:06:07 AM
I use all the flavors of this raw. Mine loves the food and she is doing great on it. She has been 100% raw with a spoon of canned for about 8 months now. No more skin problems and she even lost the weight she needed to lose.
418  Dry and Wet Foods / Nature's Variety / Re: Canned on: October 09, 2008, 12:03:02 AM
I feed the canned and the Frozen raw. Big hit and my dog looks wonderful. Huge difference.
419  Pet Products and Resources (NOT foods) / Pet Treats / Re: Suggestions for treats? on: October 09, 2008, 12:00:09 AM
I use Natures variety freeze dried raw as treats mostly. But I have used Wellness treats and I like these treats called A Dogs Life. Mine loves the Steak & Frites
420  Pet Products and Resources (NOT foods) / Pet Treats / Re: Warning About "Natural" Dried Chicken Strips on: October 08, 2008, 11:54:22 PM
I noticed quite a few of the chicken breast treats are from China. I'll stick with my freeze dried raw food for treats. You just never know these days.
