391  Cats / Cat Food Recipes / Re: Home made diet on: October 12, 2008, 01:40:14 AM
That would be very helpful.

I know that this is very old but its the grains "not" carbs that the cats shouldn't have. Carbs are needed to a point for energy. Not much, which is why most raw foods are 95%meat and 55 carbs(fruits&veggies) same about grain free kibble. I believe the ratio there is about 70/30 in some and 80/20 in others.

Correct me if I'm wrong perseus. I know you know alot about this too.

I found parts of this article interesting:

392  Dry and Wet Foods / Pedigree / Re: maggots on: October 12, 2008, 01:09:19 AM
Yes it would be good to post the information from the bag.

I don't think Purina makes Pedigree. I think pedigree is from Mars.

I don't use pedigree and don't know anyone that does. If I hear of anything I will post here.
393  Dry and Wet Foods / Evangers / Re: Evanger's FDA Problems on: October 12, 2008, 12:42:17 AM
I checked and can't find any updated info either. May have to call FDA for update.

I have heard the same things. I also got banned after being a member for well over a year and not having problems. The admin ignores the members requests for information and reasons for the ban. You are not notified. Their rules say banning will not be taken lightly and you must get several warnings before you are banned that you ignore. Well I got 1 warning and notice of being banned. My offending post:

Are you ready for this? Hold on tight its a doozy:

My post was exactly as below. Nothing more and obviously nothing less..

"PAP"

Yep you guessed it. That was my offending and horrible post.

The problem over there in my opinion is that some of the mods have used the new rules to ban people they have it in for because they can't brainwash them and they think for themselves. I will never go back. Having rules is one thing trying to keep people from posting anything controversial or not of their opinion is just plain wrong. All forums have rules but they have pure censorship. Of course this is just my humble opinion along with many others.

Welcome back Dingbat. Glad to see you here.

Thats a good idea. I'll have to look into it and check the ingredient list unless of course you can post them.

399  Dry and Wet Foods / General Discussion about Dry and Wet Packaged Foods / Re: Natures Select dog food (dry) on: October 11, 2008, 11:21:59 AM
Over all it looks ok but I would also be concerned with silicon and silica dioxides. I have never tried or heard of this food. There really are many to choose from at the stores. I myself would rather have a company I know about or someone that I know uses it.

The salmon has the least ingredients so if you have to I would go with that one.
400  Dry and Wet Foods / General Discussion about Dry and Wet Packaged Foods / Re: Eukanuba Dry Dog Food on: October 11, 2008, 11:16:29 AM
I agree with bonkers. There are lots of good foods to try. Natures Variety, Artemis,
Wellness (other flavors might be ok) Eagle pack. You could also go to the pet food list here and read about all the different brands. I know some people can't afford the ultra premium and there are some good middle of the road foods.

Well, I guess she didn't like the topic.  Oh well. I thought it was Justme posts that were missing, and yes they were there yesterday and today too. I didn't notice any others missing.

I do not miss the zillion articles that were posted from yahoo daily. So difficult to find the actual information over there.  And here they were boasting about their new rules and moderation.  I guess only certain people and things are moderated. Its certainly isn't just the pet food brands being moderated like someone posted earlier. Its the entire forum. What a shame. It used to be a great place for info now its just chit chat.

Definitely like it here more.

Hi,
I was wondering if she still sick or has it passed and if they found toxins.

Is there some posts missing from this thread  Huh I thought it had more posts when I posted.
404  Other Pet Topics / Miscellaneous Pet Topics / Re: Itchmo Is Starting To Censor their Forums on: October 10, 2008, 10:06:17 PM
Thats exactly what it looked like. I guess they couldn't figure out how to write their own rules. Oh well. Its way too communist over there now. People are afraid to post. They might get banned for nothing like a few long time members did.  This is a much better place. Less riff raff and at least you can post without fear.
