Unfortunately when you want facts you will get banned. I'm very glad I found this site a long time ago. Very polite and very forthcoming. You are allowed to have differing opinions without getting slammed about.
TomP: That said. I have been following this and have read all the posts. The main problem I have with your post is that you make accusations about a company without any proof what so ever. It matters not what anyone says to you if you can not provide the proof of the very serious accusations you made. It is slander. Any which way you look at it. When you say what you posted at Itchmo is accurate then I myself would like you to provide proof. This has been an honorable company for years. They are the largest raw food producers and have never had a problem until this one in years and years of manufacturing. If what you say has any merit at all they would have had numerous problems. Salmonella and chicken go hand in hand. I myself am surprised they have been able to keep it out of their chicken formula. I would dare someone to go to any grocery market and find a chicken without salmonella. So for me for this to be the first time its found through testing is impressive.
The other accusation you made was to accuse the company of not reporting positive test results without proof. Now that this has happened do you not think the FDA checked books and test results. Do you not think if they found something like that they would not make it public.
You apparently have it in for NV for whatever reason. That is your prerogative. That is what you feel and you have every right to it. You have to draw the line at lies and false accusations. It makes you look bitter and uninformed which is exactly what you are obviously.
While I welcome you to this site I would also like to caution you that the members here are active and very knowledgeable and we do not like being lied to, misled, and certainly don't condone false accusations about any company or any person. So until you can come up with proof of your accusations its a dead subject with me.
Of course this is only my opinion.

It is hard to believe its been almost exactly 4 months. Its very exciting. Here are some pics. Look how well she is extending her hip. Awesome. Still waiting for all the hair to grow back. If you look close you can see the line still where she was shaved.

I guess I'll jump in here and post on this. I have fed NV for a couple years now ans 100% raw for over a year a think. I have never had a problem and now that this has popped up I have to say I'm impressed with how quickly NV got the news out. They posted it on their facebook page to reach thousands of consumers faster. They were upfront and have corrected the problem and are now using a test and hold procedure. They also have implemented the HPP process so this never happens again. I think this is great. I myself was not too worried about salmonella but I'm glad they were and acted so quickly. Also glad how quickly they implemented a safe procedure.
I seen a discussion on Itchmo about this and couldn't believe the false accusations about the company and no proof to back it up. I think this needs to be discussed in a rationale manner with adults that have an open mind and not just out to get the pet food companies. One user over there that also is a member here simply asked someone for proof of their allegations and he was banned. Maybe he will come on here and tell his story.

Bonkers listed some good choices. I would like to add Nature's Variety has a grain free, with grain, and a homestyle (chunky) variety of canned cat foods. They have many flavors and seem to feed well especially the grain free.
The other brand that seems to feed well Tiki Cat. They also have several different flavors.
I know if you go to Nature's Variety website you can sign up and get coupons.
Hope this helps.

Hi Everyone,
Its been busy. Misty got her staples out Monday. Everything looks great. Surgeon said she is healing perfectly and to keep doing what we are doing. He can't believe there has been no swelling at all. She is not in much pain. Seems like just soreness from the cutting of the muscles and such. She is walking great and feeling good. Final radiographs will be the 24th of November and then we can start physical therapy to get her back in tip top shape. I will get more pics up here soon. I have to take some more. I'll keep the updates coming too.
