On a good note. I am happy to say that I was by told by a store I go to that the "New" HPP Chicken will be at most stores next week. Yeah. Can't wait to try it. I worry about the HPP causing problems with taste and texture. I hope not, but I will know by next weeks end. I plan to pick some up Beginning of next week.

I guess it may be that you able to post false information elsewhere is why you are so upset. Here we pride ourselves on facts. Yes we have opinion and we clearly state when something is our opinion. You on the other hand chose to come here and try to spread false allegations against a company with no proof at all. No attacked you. You did the attacking. We simply asked you to prove your allegations. You could not. It is as simple as that. On other less tasteful sites that may be allowed but it isn't here. I support the moderator in not allowing you to make false allegations and not allowing you to call out other members. That simply is not acceptable here. It may acceptable on other sites but not here. We are a group of people that try to provide good information and help to others. There are no cliques and no one trying to one up anyone else. We come here for opinions and facts. That is what we want and that is what we get.

The "expanded" withdraw was a precautionary measure. Overly cautious if you ask me. But that is why they are a great company. They decide to remove "all" chicken regardless of dates or codes.

Here is their release. No where does state 2 new batches.

Nature’s Variety has received new test results from an outside facility that indicate that Chicken Formula Raw Frozen Diet with the "Best If Used By" date of 10/29/10 and Chicken Formula Raw Frozen Diet with the "Best If Used By" date of 11/9/10 may be contaminated with Salmonella. Therefore, we are voluntarily recalling these date codes of product from the marketplace. Also, out of an abundance of caution, we are expanding our voluntary recall to include all Chicken Formula and Organic Chicken Formula Raw Frozen Diets for dogs and cats with any "Best If Used By" date on or before 2/5/11. We believe taking this action is an important and responsible step in order to reinforce your confidence and trust.

Perseus:  You are correct. They decided to take no chances and pull all the Chicken and Organic Chicken. The new HPP food should be available in about 2 weeks.

I am glad they decided to do this. Now we know that they care about the pets. They had no reason and did not have to pull the remaining product. They did it to be safe and so that we as consumers would not have to worry about it anymore.

You obviously have something against this company. Maybe "you" are the disgruntled employee you talk about over at the other sites. Since you would not or "could" not produce any proof to your allegations I have to say that I myself do not think your statements hold any water.  I'll go a step further and say that in my opinion nothing you say has any merit.  You may have fooled others elsewhere, but we here are a lot smarter than that. We are very informed and very research minded. We are also level headed and manage to weed out the the bull.

There have been other raw pet foods who have had isolated instances regarding the possiblility of salmonella contamination. I think Wild Kitty and Bravo both issued recalls a few years ago. In both instances the companies were quick to react.

I know that this is something that those who are skeptical or completely against feeding raw are probably quick to point out, but salmonella contamination has occurred in numerous other pet and human foods. There is always a chance of contamination or error when dealing with any type of meat or processed food.

I am happy to read that Nature's Variety is now implementing a "test and hold" procedure prior to releasing any future raw food for sale to the public.

I am glad too. From what I hear NV is now implementing the HPP (High Pressure Pasteurization) process that it has used in their freeze dried. So now there will be no chance of this happening again. So the Freeze Dried and Raw will now be HPP. This is good news and glad they are doing it quickly.

I think they make them up as they go. If they like you its all good if not your banned. It is a shame used to be a good site.
