CT, I'm thrilled to hear that Rufus is eating and doing better. The tests results are worrisome. Did AV give you any clue, or are you waiting for the rest of the tests? Is he still in the hospital?
I stopped feeding the Wellness last week after I found out about the premix situation from Wellness just to be precautionary (okay, I'm paranoid).
But, I have to tell you that little Athena has had some tiny little bits of diarrhea found on her long back fur (okay, around the butt hole) but the rest of the stool was fine. This was right up to when I stopped feeding it. Since she only has about 20% of her diet from Wellness, maybe that's why only a little bit at the end was affected. This was on and off for about 3 weeks until last week.
Good thing I rotate foods, and always will. I tried to get info on pet food testing at UCDavis, but they only did testing after the recalls in '07. Does anyone have a lab recommendation as I would like to get the Wellness canned I have tested?
Keeping you and Rufus in my thoughts.

It is quite a coincidence if it is two different people. There's Renee Mahoney who works for Ogilvy, one of the largest PR/advertising agencies in the world. Ogilvy represents Mars as a client. Can't find anything on Renee the nutritionist though. But both Renee's are in the Chicago area, just another coincidence...

Twitter is fun, but a bit odd.
Looks like unwanted advertisements could be an issue.
Ha, ha, someone referred to the Nutro folks as "tweet-zombies". Too funny.
Hi 5Cat, Yes, I *tweet* but not as Perseus and mostly for business under my company. And then only because I'm working on a certification in social media marketing. Otherwise, I found it annoying to be frank about it. But I still enjoy a good fight now and then with those in the wrong, so if you can supply any names for Nutro on twitter I'd be happy to join in. |

I would be willing to bet that the pet food manufacturers that do not get their vitamin/mineral premix from Trouw are importing theirs from China. But if anyone has any information as to which pet food companies do not use Trouw as their supplier for their premix please post them.
I'll bet you the vitamins Nutro uses are from China. Trouw is just the mixer, not the manufacturer. If you look at their website for global locations, they're in lots of third world countries. Only the best for our pets. |

TCM, I have to say I really admire you for all your persistence. The world would be a much better and safer place if there were a few more of you around.
There are many people here at TPFL that are making major contributions to keep everyone informed especially of late with so many varying problems and tragedies going on. So I thank you all, too.
I'm so glad to hear so many kitties have improved!
