Dry and Wet Foods / Canidae / Re: Rumor

My friend left a phone message for me today. She said a collie breeder lost 2 dogs and that the Canidae was positive for melamine. She said they determined the level of melamine was "too low" to recall. Somewhere, Teric had posted that he had Canidae tested and it came back negative I believe yesterday for melamine. FWIW.

Dry and Wet Foods / Canidae / Rumor

A friend called tonight because she knows I feed my dogs Canidae. She said a friend of a friend of hers just lost both of her dogs. One died while she was gone for a short while and the second died on the way to the vet. The friend said that the dogs were eating Canidae which was tested and found positive for something...she didn't know what. This occured in Pennsylvania. Is anyone able to confrim or refute this rumor?

The old wife's tale that garlic will repel fleas is just that...there are no studies to substantiate such a claim...anecdotal stories make nice tales but do not make scientific studies. However, hemolytic anemia is real.

FWIW I switched to Canidae last week for my four setters and they seem to be doing fine on it. They also like it. They are 10.5, 8.5, 4 and 1 years of age. I like that it has no association with Menu Foods or ANI...plus they claim all ingredients are grown and harvested here in the USA.
